For the record: I've never apologized for my Detroit mob reporting (believe or not, in the late 2000s, the family was over 40 made guys, now less due to attrition), nor my KC article from a couple years ago, which was written with the help of two very informed retired 'FBI agents. Furthermore, I don't ride coattails, my work stands on its own - who has broken more stories than me in the past few years outside NY?

Joe Profaci never owned Colavita. He owned Mamma Mia. His son, John, started Colavita in 1978, well after Joe died.

I'm not going to waste you time in arguing about either Detroit or KC. My point was, and is, the vitriol is not without base. As stated, we want to like your work and enjoy your service. Its simply frustrating that the continual litany of errors which speaks to either a severe lack of research or corroboration at best or deliberate attempts at sensationalism and click-bait at worst renders your work to be judged, on its merits, poorly, by many and with reason. This frustration turns to vitriol after our patience is deservedly exhausted.

If we want to like your work and enjoy your service, why would we bite the hand that feeds us?

We do so, for a reason.

"continual litany of errors," lol.....quite an overstatement.

Not trying to bite anyone's hand. And I appreciate, people "wanting to like me" and my writing.

However, as I've said before, pound for pound, I stand by my work. To imply that my writing, authoring is filled with untruths, factual mistakes and shoddy research just isn't true.

Despite our differences in opinion, I do truly appreciate the discourse and feedback.

And I'll like to extend my sincere thanks at the mature and patient way in which you've engaged the board and myself in the face of some pretty harsh criticism. I dont think any will have any doubt as to your character after this engagement regardless of opinion of some of your, perceived or not, contentious work.

As I said earlier you are well liked personally, and from the above, respected. My two cents.

Best, Sincerely.
Sonny.
