Someone help me out with this Schrat Tweet. When he says "faces house arrest - 24 months" here, does he mean "24 months of house arrest" or does he mean "anything from house arrest to 24 months in a prison"?

Correct. The Judge can do almost anything within reason. I bet he gets a least SOME actual Jail Time. Habitual Offender problem is what the Judge will focus on and use for his reason when he passes his final Judgement. We'll see....

Yeah he seems really broke driving in a 500 K rolls...

Its not his car. The house he is living is rented and not his either. On Paper he is broke. Joey lives week to week on what is sent from Philly. He must be hurting for cash if he had to get directly involved in rackets in FL.

Why wouldnt he be broke on paper? He has no fronts...if you have no fronts...you HAVE to be broke on paper.

He got involved in rackets in FL...because he is greedy and loves money, are you kidding?

So, you know that Joey is broke living week to week? Seems he is enjoying his life and has plenty of money to go around...nice cars...nice clothes...nice restaurants...but believe he is broke. Okay....

I believe Joey when he says he's broke. That's the type of guy he is. He blows the money before he gets it. The story of him taking the money from the armor car heist and going to vegas and blowing it...wells that totally believable. He might be rich Monday. Come Sunday hes broke ! lol

im sure he spends it as fast as he makes it but that doesnt mean he is broke if he is constantly earning

would you rather make 700 a week, pay your bills, save some and eat out once a week

or make 7 grand a week, eat at the best restaurants...drive a luxury vehicle, buy expensive clothes...save nothing then do it all over again?

To be honest I don't think he makes a ton of money. I think the reason he got directly involved in rackets in FL as Boss was because he wasn't making enough of money from his Capo's in Philly to support his life style down there. I don't think the tapes lie when he is crying that he is broke.

Agree with Fuhgedaboutit. These guys are many times better actors than the ones you see in Movies. Their whole life revolves around lying and some kind of deception. They're good at it. Not saying Merlino is rich, but he ain't poor either. LOL

Isn’t there a mandatory min that the judge has to work in ?
18 months isn’t worth the risk of losing at trial , will be interesting to see how it shakes out
So what’s 18 months, 90%= 16 then maybe if he can get it a few months drug program ? 13-15 months and he’s back ,

Here is what I make of what's been reported: Joey pleading to gambling, not a federal felony and not rackateering, so no three strikes. Plea agreement calls for available sentencing range from anywhere between house arrest and 24 months prison. Judge cannot exceed the 24 month range or Joey can withdraw his plea and go to trial. We would call this a binding plea agreement, which the Judge is bound if he accepts the agreement. My guess is the deal is for 24 month period, including that Joey's supervision ends at the 24 month mark as well. So he could get 6 months prison, 6 on house arrest and 12 months supervised release or something like that. Joey will serve his time and pray he gets out before the next Philly racketeering case gets filed so he can enjoy himself for a year or two and Eddie Jacobs again proves he is worth every penny he is paid.

Did he have any time served before trial? Can't remember if he was on house arrest before trial. I would assume house arrest counts towards time served. Or was he out on bail?

He got directly involved because his family is located in Philly, not Boca. Who is suppose to represent him in Florida? He's making money in both places, is able to fly back and forth between the two and can afford to hire a top criminal attorney in a RICO case. I seriously doubt he is broke. If he was, he wouldn't be so willing to go a second round at trial.

Standard RICO case is $250k and Joey doesn't have that sitting around.
