Ailing mobster, 90, wants to die in Italy as feds fight to keep him on supervised release

Can’t an old gangster just die in peace? Brooklyn federal prosecutors have an answer: Not a chance. There’s a brewing courtroom clash over the last days of a reputed Luchese soldier, the Daily News has learned. Frank (Frankie Pearl) Federico, 90 and ailing, wants to end his supervised release early so he can die in Italy among family and friends. But prosecutors have no interest in letting the Bronx nonagenarian live out la dolce vita in the country where he was born. Now the dispute is up to a judge who once called Federico a “cold-blooded murderer” and hoped he’d never leave a prison cell.

The Kubecka / Barstow murder, a really infamous one, imo, it's different from cases when gangsters are just killing each other....I think I read Rocco Vitulli was the other shooter, what happened to him, and were there only 2 shooters?

Avellino and Baratta were there, but only the two shooters. Vitulli was never indicted for the murders though. He went to jail for 4 yearrs on a gambling charge. He was made a year later at Paul Vario's house, sponsored by Baratta. Pretty obscure since then though.
Boy did Kubecka and Barstow get screwed by the Organized Crime Task Force. I mean that was cold as ice letting them die. At least the wives got 10.8 million in a later lawsuit over letting them get shot.
