Al Capone and inner circle?

Post by rayray »

I was reading some things about Capone and I never realized that three were killed at that banquet, Scalise, Anselmi and Guinta. Never knew about the third guy, supposedly they were beaten with a baseball bat then shot to death. Scalise apparently threw his hand up in the air to cover his face when he was shot, his pinky was shot off.

And then I was wondering who was the inner circle of Al Capone?

Frank Capone
Ralph Capone
Jake Guzick
Frank Nitti
Tony Accardo
Paul Ricca
Ralph D'Andrea
Vincenzo Gilbaldi

Jim Capone? Never heard of him till Villian posted his picture

I think you mean Phil D'Andrea. Accardo wouldn't have been in his inner circle that early. Louis Campagna would have been in and Rio like Nicky pointed out. Maybe Claude Maddox and Willie Heeney too.

Thank you guys. Were any of these guys left overs from Torrio or possibly even Colosimo? Or did these guys come up through the ranks with Al Capone and these were his people?

Just found this web site, never ran across this one. Says that Capone's brother that became a sheriff eventually fronted for brother Ralph, under the myth section.

Frank DelBono (listed above as Frank Delbond) and his brother Carl DelBono were involved in many early 1930s kidnappings and robberies. By 1933 they were nonfactors in the gang as they had gone on trial for the kidnappings of Adhemar Hughe and Fred DeFilippi. I believed they were sentenced to something like 17 years for these cases.

Leslie Kruse came in the Capone gang through Jake Guzik.

Willie Heeney came from St.Louis.

Frank"Diamond" Maritote was a brother-in-law of Al Capone.

Tony Volpe i think worked for Diamond Joe Esposito

Carl Torraco used to work for Johnny Torrio.

How about Ralph Pierce? I see his name a lot in my research, I know he was Humphreys man but was he close to Capone at all?

I may have passed by them reading to fast but were Fischetti brothers not part of his inner circle?

Ralph Pierce came under Sam "Golf Bag" Hunt on the South Side. After the imprisonment of Pat Manno and Rocco DeStefano, Pierce became the boss of the South Side. Even though Humphreys was the boss of the non-Italian faction, by the end of the day Pierce answered to Gus Alex.

Hunt, Pierce, Manno and DeStefano were mainly involved in the policy racket on Chicago's South Side, which is the main reason for Manno's imprisonment.

The race wire was a project "invented" mainly by the non-Italian faction, meaning Guzik and Levine. And the guys who did the shootings belonged to the non-Italian faction from the West Side, including Lenny Patrick, Dave Yaras and Willie Block.
