Hey Pogo, I notice you have two separate ceremonies listed for Vito Grimaldi. Which is the correct one?

The 1991 one.

There's a bunch of guys listed more than once. Vincent Asaro is in both: January/February 1976 and August 1977 for example.

Asaro was in August 1977. The original post is not up to date. I have since made many additions and corrections to my list.

Random question: I recently read an article or post and I'm pretty sure it was on this board though it could have been on another site.

It mentioned how in the making ceremonies the catholic cards with the picture of a saint weren't the best to use because they burn the shit out of your hand and they mentioned using something else.

I can't find that article or post again and I've been looking for 2 days. Does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about lol??

Just been reading a capeci article about genovese mobster John buster ardito . He claime on wiretaps he was made in 1958

Ardito (probably on the same wire) also claimed that the books were opened in 1974. These guys are imperfect with years/dates, though, to say the least.

I don't think it is a coincidence that John Buster Ardito and Vincent Fish Cafaro both were wrong about Genovese induction ceremonies in 1974. I have seen too many documents and files where the Genovese and Lucchese Families were making guys by 74. The Colombos made Allie Boy in 72(albeit through an outside family) under special circumstances because Carmine was in jail. Sonny Franzese was also in jail so I take Mikey Franzese by his word when he says he was made in October 75. Why would he lie? The Gambino and Bonanno Family were different. Carlo was dying. He had Paul as an Acting at the time. Bonanno Family too. Rastelli was in jail, Galante was the street Boss. So that is why they waited until 76 to start making guys.

check out JDs blog about the bonanno making ceremonies from the 1970s. Its great. The Bonannos made over 50 guys from 1976 to 1979 thats a lot. Does anybody know what their numbers were before the books were opened?
