Re: Various Articles
The Tony Salerno story is full of interesting tidbits:
he was a boxer in his youth ( aren't all the genovese bigwigs)
before he was fat tony, he was "punchy"
he had webbed feet (really?)
he sold his Miami home to Paul Ricca
I recall Valachi was jealous of him or surprised at his quick rise
thanks for posting

50-Man Dragnet Out For 2 Robilotto Pals; 9th Suspect Jailed
A force of 50 detectives searched today for two men who may hold the key to the killing of underworld boss and undertaker John Robilotto, 54, in Brooklyn early Sunday.
No alarm was teletyped outside the city, possible in hope those sought would feel secure enough to remain in the city, presumably in hiding from both the cops and the friends of Robilotto's killer.
Both men described by police as "Charley and "Johnny," were close associates of the undertaker, and were with him m San Chel's Restaurant, 5000 Kings Hwy , until shortly before 3 a.m.
Charley was supposed to be Robilotto's bodyguard, and Johnny was a sort of assistant. The two accompanied Robilotto from the bar but apparently chickened out when the killer approached.
The two thus are probably the last persons, except for the killer to see Robilotto alive. They also can identify the killer himself police believe.
Robilotto was shot four times on the street a few blocks from the restaurant, which was his hangout and a reported gathering place for the top mobsters of Brooklyn.
He was said to ha\e been killed over control of Brooklyn's gambling rackets, which grossed any where from $5,000 000 to $20 000 000 annually.
At one time Robilotto was a prime suspect in the underworld killing of Willie Moretti in New Jersey, and recently he bragged that he was one of the top mobsters who eluded the State Police cordon at the roundup a year ago in Apalachin, N. Y.
Meanwhile, a ninth man was picked up during the night in the investigating into the killing, Ralph Ruffalo, 54, of 603 Grand Av., Brooklyn, was held on a technical charge of vagrancy and questioned during the night.
Police said Ruffalo, a known bookie with a strong of convictions, had been seen in the murder area for several days prior to the shooting of Robilotto.
