"Enforcer"? I'd call that about as low as one could get traditionally.

Canalichio would be apart of the power structure if he got out, he goes way back with all of the Merlino guys, to be me he's a "mid level" guy. I think people put too much stock in what rank a guy is.

I'm with Pogo on this one.
"Soldier" sounds like a pretty low rank, but it's actually a fairly midlevel position in the world of organized crime IMHO.

Re: Damion Canalichio Reduced Sentence Hearing
If the informant WAS Canalichio do you think he would be coming up for a re-sentencing hearing now in a public federal hearing, where his "anticipated" cooperation would have to be presented to the Judge? No way. Just not how the federal system works. He would disappear from federal prison in the middle of the night and he would be resentenced after he testified not before. Its not him. The mid level informer is probably wire tickling any way.

Gioavanni Falcone also said that the term soldier for a made man is very misleading, because in fact they can be like generals in the criminal subculture, leading a large group of associates and wannabes.

How people can't see this is honestly baffling.dack2001 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 3:11 pm If the informant WAS Canalichio do you think he would be coming up for a re-sentencing hearing now in a public federal hearing, where his "anticipated" cooperation would have to be presented to the Judge? Instead, they correlate the informant rumor with this reduced sentencing news.
Laughable.

I wonder where filipelli stands in with things now?
Re: Damion Canalichio Reduced Sentence Hearing
In read somewhere his last name was Phillips and he changed it to filipelli. Supposedly to “Italianize” it
Re: Damion Canalichio Reduced Sentence Hearing
I doubt Big Vince is doing big things. If memory serves at Staino's trial it came out that he was in Staino's crew and Staino was trying to place Big Vince as a bodyguard of sorts for the undercover agent who wanted to get some kind of drug/shylock operation going. I got the impression that it was more trying to help Big Vince earn a few dollars than ripping off the shylock.

Re: Damion Canalichio Reduced Sentence Hearing
anybody got the address to this First Ward Republican Club in Philly that the article mentions?
Re: Damion Canalichio Reduced Sentence Hearing
It's at the corner of 2300 S. Woodstock St on the second floor. I think the first floor is a bakery or something like that. Haven't been over there in a year or so. It's not called Chin Don though, but basically the same exact thing operating as a late night speak easy. Not sure how active it is now, but a year or two ago it was back up in full swing.
