Where are you getting your info on these guys btw? You've met them? Know people who met them? Or just read glorified newspaper reports on them? I've never met Paulie Carparelli, therefore I'd never make a remark critiquing his character. That sort of gossipy nonsense is relegated to women & children.

My idol? .....dafuk? Cmon pal, pathetic baiting. Just admit that you're babbling incoherently out of your shitter.
It's part of the indictment. Hollingshead will testify that Panozzzo had an old woman sign over her house to him and then Panozzo killed her.
However, I'm sure he was a gentleman about it.
There are no murders included in this indictment. You should stop making statements that everyone knows are wrong and that are easily disproved. The last few pages of this thread have been everyone just disproving every single comment you make.
I agree with phat,I love those old fucks and he's right.we all got some cosa nostra in us.I personnely love the life.I think we on the forum would be the ultimate crew! - camerono

An indictment can be MODIFIED. Hollingshead will put Panozzo away for a long time.

Nothing was disproved. Part of what I said was AN OPINION just like your opinion that the Outfit had 200 made guys.
What I said about Federal investigations is FACT of which you know nothing.

Snakes wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2017 9:22 am Angelini and Cortina kicked up to Ferriola and they had the biggest book in the city. This also around the time they really started cracking down on independent bookmakers, especially in the suburbs. The other crews definitely had their own sportsbooks, though.
Yes the news article definitely true, but we don't know how accurate. But interestingly enough didn't Nick Calebrese testify that Ferriola was direct with the bosses. If true maybe there was another high up member that was in charge of the other half of the gambling. Maybe like two overall bosses of Outfit gambling or maybe the gambling had more of these type of bosses that we're in charge of divided up territories. Like separate bosses that we're in charge of strictly just gambling. This is just guessing on my part. But the article does open up some interesting thought.
I'll have look through the testimony again but if I recall correctly they asked nick what ferriola position was and he said he was a money maker and leader of the wild bunch, didn't identify him as any kind of boss beyond that. It's weird though because there must have been some intel he was the boss as the FBI had him as boss at one point. Obviously we know that wasn't the case but still a weird situation. Seems he was at least Cicero boss as all the guys like infelise, Marino, delaurentis, etc all reported to him
Also why was Tocco worried about Ferriola then if he outranked him as according to his wife's testimony.
Ferriola may have been in some type of position between Cerone and the capos; on a higher level than the others but reporting only to the bosses. Maybe he had several crews reporting to him, like the Cortina bookmaking crew, the Wild Bunch, and later, the Infelise crew up in Lake County. You also had the Bastones. Perhaps Ferriola was the conduit between those groups and the bosses and was in charge of managing all of their affairs.
Yes Snakes I think your on to something. That has to be it. He obviously had to rank pretty high in the organization and served his purpose of another layer of protection for the top bosses.
No need to invent some special position for Ferriola. If you read the Court Transcripts from the "Good Ship Lollipop" case, it states that Ferriola was the Boss of the Cicero crew. there are other Court cases that talk about Cortina- Angelini subcrew being partnered with Ferriola.
The Cicero Crew, like the others, had sub crews headed by a made guys with which Ferriola was partnered. Infelice, Cortina-Angelini etc.
He was a Crew Boss just like the other Crew Bosses. I fail to see the mystery in it.
No body here made up a title for Ferriola. One of the Chicago newspapers did in 1979. We were just trying to figure out what it meant and if it was true. Also Ferriola was never the boss of the Outfit. Not only did Patrick testify that Carlisi succeeded Aiuppa, but also Nick Calebrese. It's makes sense when you think about DiFronzo was captain of Cerones old crew and Carlisi was captain of one of Aiuppas old crews.

I agree. Ferriola was the Boss of Cicero crew. Carlisi was top Boss, Auippa's protégé.

But why was a Capo, Tocco hiding in Florida from Ferriola a Capo and afraid Ferriola was going have him whacked. You said he was a crew leader like the other crew leaders. I think Ferriola had been around enough to know he himself would be killed if he killed Tocco. Unless he had the authority to. That is all we are saying basically that even though he never was boss , he had some kind of authority even over other Capos

It's not that I'm right because I'm definitely confused about what his role or title was. I'm just saying what Snakes said of his position makes more sense and very definitely could be what he was. I also just thought that maybe the article was wrong and that was when Ferriola became Capo. Isn't that the same time period that Torrello died.

Well, if Ferriola wasn't the Boss of Cicero, then who was? Maybe he was first among equals with the other Capos?

That's possible. Now this article I read from 1979 that stated he was promoted to be in charge of all gambling and basically said he was right under Aiuppa and Cerone, maybe since Cerone was acting boss then maybe Ferriola was acting Underboss till Aiuppa recovered.

There's a really good rule I follow whenever I have a question/query/dispute/argument/inquiry or wish to learn or know anything about Chicago.

Ask and listen, to snakes.

Yes and I believe he is right about Ferriola being in a position that was in between the bosses and the Capos.

no they didn't

no Outfit guys ever wore 3 pieces of dressed flashy. There are photos of DiFronzo & Lombardo when they were younger, they dress in street clothes. I like how that guy cited Joe Andrich as a "sharp dresser". There are 2 photos of that guy & they are mugshots LMFAO.
That just proves they were shitty hijackers or, more likely, there were better pickings in NY. They didn't pay for those fancy suits.
