Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
Nick Calabrese said he wasn't a capo in his testimony. I tried to give a reason for why that may have been the case. I'm well aware of the later cases and he was certainly a figure of some authority. Don't be contrarian just because you don't like me.

Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
You're the one who doesn't like me because I am very conservative and maybe I know more about LE than you. lol
Nick Calabrese didn't know everything about the Outfit just like Joe Valachi didn't know everything about the Genovese Family.
Maybe that was just his opinion. He also was wrong about who was present at the Spilotro brothers murder.
I would take the word of the Feds over a low class sociopath like Nick Calabrese because they who had to be very accurate in Court transcripts.
Now, if Joey Auippa or Jack Cerone said Ferriola wasn't a Capo, then I would believe it.

Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
Ok, but there is a reason why he said that. I tried to provide a reason. I never said Ferriola wasn't a capo. Note my use of the words "may," "maybe," and "perhaps" when replying to Frank's question.

Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
Okay. Fair enough. I guess the person really asking about it was Frank. I think its quite obvious Ferriola was Boss of the Cicero Crew. There is no one else who could have been Boss of that Crew. He was partnered with made guys under him just like any other Crew Boss.
Now, whether he was the Top Boss for a short while before he got sick is a whole other subject
" Everything Woke turns to shit".
Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
I don't think he was ever top boss. He was pretty sick before Aiuppa went to prison, even. Lenny Patrick also confirmed that Carlisi succeeded Aiuppa.
My theory was basically saying he had a super crew, for lack of a better term, with everyone in the West Side suburbs outside of Melrose Park and Elmwood Park reporting to him. It was a very large territory. Just a guess, I could be way off.

Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
That's a good educated guess. Also, it does seem like Carlisi was the Top Boss because as you say, Ferriola was sick and Carlisi was Auippa' s boy for many, many years. When I read Captive City, Carlisi was Auippa's driver way back in the 60's.Snakes wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2017 7:02 pm I don't think he was ever top boss. "the older guys dressed much better" "were at least smart enough to get out"Confederate wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2017 1:20 am I think the younger guys seem to be even more delusional and lowlifes than the older guys like DiFronzo or Andriacchi. The older guys dressed much better and were at least smart enough to become wealthy and get out. This will never happen to any younger guys. The Outfit will be finished as a Family in the next 10 to 15 years in my opinion. The only guys left to recruit are low life scumbags who dress poorly. I base this opinion on the way the demographics have changed and the way these guys look in photographs. Most all the Italian Americans who are younger live in the suburbs from what I was reading and are reasonably successful. They don't give a fuck about the Outfit.

Always annoyed by that comment, everyone dressed in suits in the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

Listen Pete, You have a much higher opinion of the Younger guys in the Outfit than I do. That's all that matters. I think any younger guy who would be interested in joining the Outfit would be a low class scumbag or drug addict. The present times are way different than 40 years ago.
You are more of a fan of the Outfit than me. Let's just leave it that and watch the Feds dismantle the whole thing as the older guys die and we'll talk about it again 10 years from now. Thank You for the debate and no hard feelings.
this guy reminds me of The Don of ANP fame

no Outfit guys ever wore 3 pieces of dressed flashy. There are photos of DiFronzo & Lombardo when they were younger, they dress in street clothes. I like how that guy cited Joe Andrich as a "sharp dresser". There are 2 photos of that guy & they are mugshots LMFAO.

Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
I never said Andriacchi was a sharp dresser. I just said people in general (including gangsters) generally dressed better years ago. No big deal. Don't have to get defensive or excited about it. Another thing, I can't speak for Paulie Carparelli, but Bobby Panozzo is far from some meth head wannabe. He came up in the Lombardo Crew & is one of the most respected & feared gangsters in Chicago. He's also very wealthy & a complete gentleman. You won't find anyone who would dispute this. You're just making shit up

Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
Oh, okay. Is he a complete gentleman when he is robbing someone's house or beating up an old woman? If so, tell him to fly out of State to my house and he can rob it and beat up my mom.smoker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2017 8:33 pm Another thing, I can't speak for Paulie Carparelli, but Bobby Panozzo is far from some meth head wannabe. I didn't mean to strike a nerve about your idol. I apologize.

Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
That old woman story is nonsense. I can't speak on his gangster exploits, none of my business, but he is a complete gentleman & everyone knows that. A gangter's gangster. DiFronzo & Zizzo loved him.
Where are you getting your info on these guys btw? You've met them? Know people who met them? Or just read glorified newspaper reports on them? I've never met Paulie Carparelli, therefore I'd never make a remark critiquing his character. That sort of gossipy nonsense is relegated to women & children.
My idol? .....dafuk? Cmon pal, pathetic baiting. Just admit that you're babbling incoherently out of your shitter.

Re: Present Day Chicago Outfit
It's part of the indictment. Hollingshead will testify that Panozzzo had an old woman sign over her house to him and then Panozzo killed her.smoker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2017 9:21 pm That old woman story is nonsense. However, I'm sure he was a gentleman about it.
