Potential legal sports betting and the mob

Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
At the beginning I'm not sure the wise guys will take a huge hit but in 10 years when it's evolved to easy on line and bringing it in to the bars at racetracks I could see it taking a decent hit come super bowl , World Series , march madness, World Cup etc., when people can go to a sick bar set up like Victory at meadowlands .
Like others stated the gambling junkies the mob will likely keep a big share of but the big event volume plays I could see them losing a decent chunk to gamblers that like to go out for those events.
Regardless it's not a good development for wise guys as a book is such a consistent money maker and can lead to a lot of other scores / relationships

Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
So if you use an offshore site, you just use your card and place a bet and they just automatically take it from your account if lose?
Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
From south Louisiana and there are bookies everywhere but I have never fooled with that offshore shit. Just don’t know enough about it.
Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
You can start your own online book in minutes. Hundreds of sites that set you up with everything you need. Some will charge you $10 a head. You give your guys a user name and PW. They log in and bet on whatever they want.
Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
If you're talking about mob-run offshore sight, it's simply how the bettor places his bet and the bookie can also log in and see the bet and for how much. The money itself is actually exchanged in person when it comes time to settle up.
If you're talking about legit gambling sites, if I'm not mistaken, you initially deposit money into a player account. Maybe others are different.
All roads lead to New York.

(yes, no CC. the difficult part is getting the money to CR where the majority are. bitcoin most popular method now cause there is no cap on how much you can send. for MG or WU you can only send up to $600 at a time)

(yes, you fund the account with a cc or a bank card. as some said some bank cards wont allow you if it shows up as gaming. )

Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
10 years ago I could fund my pinnacle account with my credit card that's took 2 mins and that's it but the republicans passed a law that basically killed normal bank funding by using the moral / vice argument , now some are cool with pedophiles, go figure and exactly why I'm an independent as the hypocrisy on both sides is mind boggling .
I used to did it with $100 gift cards that you could load most times but the whole process became tiring. I liked the big bonus's they gave you and I remember one book , sky somethign gave you a free 1/2 pt in all bets
Now that I think about it that republican bill must have been a boom to wise guy sportsbook that came right around the internet explosion . It's just my opinion but I think wise guy sports books are many times bigger then they were even at their height in the 1980s. Give them credit with their technology and jurisdiction savyness

CT has the exact same law as the other states on what I wrote about. Your case is different but the result is not necessarily different. In your case the issue is whether the ADA requires that a particular employer, depending upon its business, has to reasonably accommodate your disability by letting you smoke outside of work.
Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
And of course whether the debilitating medical condition allows you to do the essential functions of the job in any event.
Hope you're doing well with it.

Sky bet , oh shit , great call cheech. Loved that benefit and I really miss pinny as their juice was always the lowest , wish I could get back in there but last I checked years ago they stopped accepting US clients.
In game live betting is growing big and that could be a big way wise guy books can differentiate from legal books but if in 10 years they are basically offering the same product then I think it will have a decent impact , not fatal but a hit
Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
If it's legal I can see twitter having a big impact and/ or live betting options .
Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
I don't know what street books offer as far as juice but most online books average at 10%.
Re: Potential legal sports betting and the mob
Pinny had a reduced juice promo. that was there "gimmick"
Pinny's line sharpest. no more US bettors. unless youre a whale
