I think it'd be interesting to see what people think on the state of the Colombos now, not much has come out about them since 2011. Seems they were trying to rebuild back then, wonder what's happening now.

usually (in my opnion) the Colombos have always been last in line of the five families.... but ever since the last Lucchese bust they may be inna little bit better spot.
they should just become a prison gang

Russo has been out since June '13 (Age 83)
Castellazzo has been out since Aug '15 (80)
Farese has been out since Sept '12 (75)
So their Admin has been steady.

Re: Bonanno lesdership
So no admin changes that we know of since the 2011 indictment? Also, Farese was only acting consig for Richie Fusco and is living back down in Florida I think. As well as this, Castellazzo's barred from travelling/living in New York without explicit permission from his parole officer until 2018.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2017 7:04 pmRusso has been out since June '13 (Age 83)

My understanding is what's listed here at BH with Russo acting, Castellazzo as UB and Farese/Fusco/Montenarano consig.gohnjotti wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2017 8:02 pmSo no admin changes that we know of since the 2011 indictment? Fusco was released in Jun '13 (Age 85 today).
Where does Castellazzo live?
I'm doubtful on Montenarano being active as he resides in LA, IIRC. So it appears Fusco would be consig with Farese in Florida.

Re: Bonanno lesdership
Fusco died shortly after his release from prison in 2013. When Castellazzo came up for sentencing cried broke to the judge, listing his address as a trailer park in West Creek, South Jersey - I doubt that's where he really lives, it was most likely just a ploy for leniency.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2017 8:19 pmMy understanding is what's listed here at BH with Russo acting, Castellazzo as UB and Farese/Fusco/Montenarano consig.gohnjotti wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2017 8:02 pmSo no admin changes that we know of since the 2011 indictment? Any thoughts on consig, with the two listed candidates both listed out of state?
Appreciate the info on Castellazo. I recalled the trailer park, but not it's location.

Re: Bonanno lesdership
Ralph Lombardo, aged 86, was acting consigliere in the 1990s until Little Allie Boy Persico got it in his head that Lombardo was a rat - Persico wanted to induct Dino Calabro and have him take over Lombardo's powerful L.I. crew after clipping him. It had something to do with the fact that Lombardo seemed to never get arrested. Anyways, Lombardo seemed to know of the plan because he was apparently eager to have his bail revoked so he could begin serving time. Lombardo's probably too old today though.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2017 8:30 pmI had forgotten Fusco had passed.gohnjotti wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2017 8:25 pmFusco died shortly after his release from prison in 2013. Aside from him, Joe Baudanza, 73, was on the family's ruling in the 1990s and ran a $20m pump & dump until 2006. He was released from prison in 2011. He also has a lot of family associated with organized crime in the Colombo & Lucchese families.
I have my suspicions about Fat Dennis DeLucia, aged 76. Guy's rich - spends a lot of time in Saratoga where he owns upwards of 3 luxury yachts. He might run some bookmaking up there or something.
Also, I doubt Andy Russo wants to run things anymore. Every time he's been upped to street boss, he's been behind bars with 2/3 years. "The life" hasn't really treated him well, and he's really only gotten anywhere by virtue of his cousin Carmine Persico. He had three sons join the Mafia - one of them's serving life for a Persico/Orena murder, one died in prison of cancer, and the other is apparently a capo. I'm pretty sure Russo had a breakdown at one of his recent sentencings, yelling and screaming at the judge & prosecutors.

Good post Gohn.
Lombardo's a possibility but given his age and standing with the Persico's I doubt it.
I've always thought Baudanza has been a powerful figure and wondered why he hasn't been part of the admin for a long time.
This leads to doubting his standing with the Persico's. He's been a powerful Capo for many years and the Columbo's have scraped the barrel instead of upping him.
I think the snake only, understandably, likes relatives in positions of power, or at least hold the balance of power. Farese is married in.
I hear you regards Russo. The life hasn't been kind. But he appears to be a loyal standup guy. It wouldn't surprise me if he's still acting, unless retired due age.
Do we have any info on his son the capo? Photo etc.
Appreciate the info on the Russo family by the way. James Caan's a close friend as I'm sure you know. The Jew who wishes he was Italian
I'm not sure about DeLuca's rep on the street. IIRC Conrad Ianello was recorded relaying a message to DeLuca to go fuck himself, he'll take what he wants, or try and stop him or something to that effect.
I'd suggest consig is related, blood or marriage. Seems to be the pattern.

I forgot about that beef with Ianniello. DeLucia's son was/is the secretary treasurer of a small construction union, and Ianniello sent some fat thug over and rough him up until he pissed himself. DeLucia didn't get any compensation for that, Ianniello was allowed to walk all over them.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2017 9:37 pm Good post Gohn.

Russo's last active son is William 'Billy' Russo, whose basically unknown. The feds investigated him in 2011 but nothing came from it. He attended some sitdowns with his dad. Can't find any photos of him, and Russo's such a common last name that I doubt you'll find anything on social media. Also, I think Andy's the godfather of Caan's son Scott, the star actor in Hawaii Five-O.
I believe the future of the family lies with Teddy Persico Jr. or William Russo, just because Carmine Persico got so paranoid after Vic Orena that he won't install anyone who isn't blood or a close friend.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on who has the more sway in the family, Carmine or Allie Boy? Allie Boy was the guy behind Ralph DeLeo's ascension to street boss, even though he was from New England or something and didn't really know any other mobsters - he was inducted only because he was friends with Allie Boy in prison.

From all that has come out it is Little Allie Boy. He was the driving force behind the Wild Bill Cutolo murder, the attempt on Joe Campanella, the plot against Lombardo and, like you said, installing DeLeo as the Street Boss. It was also once said that he was installed as Official Boss in 2001 around the same time as Peter Gotti but evidently that didn't happen. Carmine holds the title but it is his son who is functioning as the Official Boss. That is was what Carmine always wanted.

@Gohn: Concur regards teddy Persico jnr. If he stay's out of prison long enough.
Who knows regards Allie Boy vs Carmine. I'd suggest Carmine, as Allie was only acting for his father.
Hard to be acting locked up.
I assume he'll receive the crown when Carmine passes. For all the good it'll do him.
