long live Shotsie
All he ever did was book.
All his life!
Shotsie is Salvatore Sparacio? I think he was mentioned in an article about Sonny Franzese's release, when they listed several oldest mafiosi in the USA.

Why would he suddenly name the current acting or official underboss just because he died? If that was the case he would have said by now.
Coz it's relevant with mangano dying , while telling manganos story he may say who has been acting for him or replaced him

Exactly, Capeci rarely does stories solely announcing an administration change.

I would have thought the Underboss, whether official or Acting, is Danny Leo.

Yes I read that but it's kind of different to be street boss and Consiglieri. I would think that with all the top members the Genovese have they wouldn't have to double up on jobs. Capeci report is still all the information we have on the current administration I guess.

Say what you want about him, but the dude had some balls to earn the medals that he did. And being a tailgunner was no joke either.

That is what I find interesting about some of these guys, they went away to serve their country whether they wanted to (joined) or not (drafted) and came back doing the same damn thing they were probably doing before they left. I also wonder if some learned the tools of the trade (killing) in the service during WWII? Some who might have been drafted might not have made their bones yet but after the war and they killed a few maybe it didn't bother them as much when they came back.

I DO KNOW battle can do some crazy shit to you and your mind at such a young age.
If I didn't have my case coming up, I would like to come back with you gentlemen when this is over with and really lay the law down what is going on in this country.....

Jerry Tillinghast of the New England crime family said that shortly after serving in Vietnam, he volunteered to perform a hit for his brother because he was already accustomed to killing. Something along the lines of: "I had just spent years in the fucking jungle killing people so this was no problem." Scary to think how the government almost breeds successful and capable killers by giving them an outlet to murder legally. He also said,
"Our CO told us 'remember to take back prisoners!' Fuck that. We didn't take back no prisoners. After a while, after seeing what they do to your friends, you start to stop caring about who you're killing." Essentially, he was trained to have no value for human life.

Being a tailgunner is a lot different than being an Infantryman or Combat Engineer

I requested Matty Ianniello´s file the day after he died. Haven´t received it yet...it´s been five years! Mangano´s file would take a long time to process too, I imagine.
There you have it, never printed before.

The west side has so many veteran guys out on the street that it's hard for me to think Barney isn't using them at a minimum in disinformation schemes and I'm sure the old timers absolutely love it sticking it to the Feds .

Dom C , Mario, Danny Leo etc etc , all guys that went to huge lengths for decades to confuse the Feds , for some reason I can see the west side doing all kinds meets , whispers ( legit and not ) or what have you to waste an already thin Fed manpower and resources . Having X guy meet with X old timer or spread X old timer disinformation and just exhausting them , I could really see Barney really keeping the Feds off balance today.

The WS fed team IMO likely has respect for their tradecraft . Can you imagine trying to put those pieces together ? Chin seemed to like admin guys that already had a lot of ) and thus made decisions without much of greed being a factor . I don't really see BB taking a big cut outside of the xmas $ as that probably cuts his legal risk and he can get paid thru all the businesses he has and the legit biz that can be steered his way . They just built probably a 40 floor hotel on water street .

I do think the Feds are getting a little more active vs LCN recently as biz seemed to be coming back , especially union and construction biz . I also kind of think Danny Leo is still active where I think others thinks he is likely retired , honestly who knows lol

The Genovese Admin and Capos are mostly Chin's guys and they have learned a lot from him. Leo, Alan Longo, Patty Falcetti, etc all pose as legit businessmen with investments and stock trading etc. I heard that Longo even got his stock trading license back recently - does anyone know what that guy is up to nowadays?
