I am curious about the crews (in Detroit) and their areas/territories (however gray) in the early period. Joe Tocco was situated in Wyandotte, LaMare in Hamtrack, the Ruggirellos (from what I'm seeing in contemporary sources) appear to be active in Eastern Market. (Oddly, 5 years prior, the Giannolas were active in that same area as was his successor despite being around Ford (modern Wyandotte).

And again, info I'm looking at I'm not seeing separate Families, just crews. If there was a Mafia war in Detroit in the late 20's it was an internal one. The estimate in Giannola group's 1922 membership was estimated at 50 which still feels inflated to me but it can't be argued due to lack of additional resources. At least for now.

I've asked people before about this possible Las Vegas victim but no one seems to know who they were referring to. It's not even clear if a murder ever even took place. If I had to guess I'd say that it didn't, or that the information is just wrong. While FBI documents are incredibly interesting you'll often find that with the passage of time that sometimes they are way off even though they may have believed them to be accurate at the time. As an example there's one where the FBI in the 1960s thought the Detroit mob had killed a Detroit mobster named Mario Agosta, but he pops up alive and well and working for the Giacalones later on in life.

Agosta was busted with Billy and Jackie Giacalone in 1984 in the Farm Fresh Produce case
