Yeah he was still running around doing his thing in the 80s though. Definitely funneling money Scarfo's way that's for sure. Leonetti even said one time Little Felix came by to drop by they're cut of a huge score he had (when Chucky was UB) and Scarfo says to Phil "let's keep this to ourselves and not tell Chucky about it...". I think when all those guys went away with Scarfo he was just one of the few guys left over who had been around for awhile and wanted to play a role. But I can see the laying low part too you could be right. Just saying he wasn't in hiding or anything... The latter could also explain why he was close with Stanfa. They both obviously trusted each other with due in part to a certain secret if both of their involvements are in fact true.

Little fun fact... The butcher shop that he owned was on 7th Street and they made book out of there forever even into the Stanfa years. It's a Chinese bakery now, but it was called Ferrante Meats into the 90s. Same butcher store with the apt on top where they tried to kill John Veasey he stumbled out etc.
