Jersey... Surprised there isn't more talk on this thread considering it's more recent and involves a hit.

We can use another mob hit now.

I've heard all kinds of shit about this case since the day it happened. One was he was clipped by the Jersey Crew of the Luccheses (even though he wasn't part of that crew he was a NY crew member). I suspect this rumor flew around because after the murder the Lucchese inducted some new members in NJ later that yr. But we all know you haven't had to clip someone to get made in decades. So that is a stretch since all the members that were made were all just gamblers not gangsters by a long shot. The killers for the NJ Luccheses just walked out of jail this year, are in WPP or dead. You don't have gamblers pull off murders unless you want to them to get caught. I have also heard that the Gatto crew ordered it and either a NY or Jersey hit team from the westside pulled it off. The way the guy was hit it could have been anyone who killed him. No one needed to get close to him for that hit.. The guy had the same schedule everyday and he was hit in the back of the head getting out of his car in the diner he co-owned. Modega is a dirty motherfucker who walked around like a wiseguy wanna be. Do I believe he was close to Lagano and vacationed with him. Hell yes. Do I think this guy killed him? I doubt it. But I do believe most of what Sweeney said. Modega exposed him knowing full well they way he did it the westside had to act. The Gatto crew had a pretty good reputation as a violent crew that would pull off murders unlike some other westside crews in NJ. And it was their sports book that Langano was informing on. Paul Mancuso made him self scarce until Gatto died and they he popped up again in the gambling world.. They had a long rep as a crew that wouldn't threaten death...they would just do it. But also allot of the Gatto crew members were jailed or dead when this hit went down...in comes the hit crew from NY rumor. I don't know who the crew members were in 2007. I just know more about the ones from decades past like Alan Grecco. He is going life for killing a guy with an ice pick to thru the ear. And the victim was just a dead beat gambler not a rat or made member. Who knows? But Modega is a dirty mother fucker and has been for yrs way before he held this position. When he was a beat cop its rumored he robbed drugs dealers on a regular bases. They should look into where he got the money for all the upgrades to his home, pool, new kitchen and baths etc. The guy should not be in LE. Only in NJ could he rise thru the ranks....

I'm surprised that house isn't $3 million, you have no idea how expensive Real Estate is here in Jersey....

Maybe back in 1996...lol Only in NJ could this shit go down. We are the most expensive state to live in because of the corruption at every level all the way up to the top. Its nutts. We have massive tax revenue yet we cant fund the pension system for Teachers, Cops and Fireman. Infact its so corrupt that the Police union had to sue to get control of their Pension system and get it out of the hands of the state. The money is there...its just sent elsewhere. We pay more then any other statement for state road and construction contracts. Almost 3 times as much. Its nutts. Hope this guy goes down. There is no doubt that Lagano was killed due to this guy leaking his informant status.
