Graziano was also said to be the captain overseeing all the Florida members at the time.

Interesting. So the Chilli Crew lost the Florida portion of the crew? Seems they got them, or at least some of them, back by 2003 when Chilli and Puccio were busted in South Florida.

Great info as always.

This can't be accurate.

From memory Santora was made when Pistone was around early 80's.

The "Memorandum of law in support of the Government´s motion for permanent orders of detention" (US V. Badalamenti et al) said in the page 27: "CW #1 is expected to testify that he proposed Santora for induction into the Bonanno family and subsequently presided over Santora’s induction ceremony in approximately 1995 or 1996" CW 1 i think is Joe Massino.

On the other hand Santora was jailed until 96, I think this was the year of his induction

Does it have to be the boss that does the induction or not? I always saw in movies (bad source, I know) the boss inducting the members.

It just has to be a member with proper authority. In this case Anthony Spero the consigliere performed the induction.

Yeah Tartaglione also testified to something similar at his trial.

I should add that Maasino was still in prison during this time which was why he wasn't presiding over this ceremony.

So that is two or three guys we know of who were possibly NY or NJ-based members of Sciascia's crew during the 1990s, Ligammari and Montagna*, both young Sicilians, and possibly the elder Ligammari when he got out of prison.

The Sciascia crew might have looked like this at the time of his death:

Giovanni Ligammari
Pietro Ligammari
Salvatore Montagna
+19 alleged Montreal members
+influence over Baldo Amato (Sciascia had previously broken protocol by volunteering Amato for a hit even though he wasn't his capo, among other things)
+strong bond with many other Zips in the US, Canada, South America, Sicily.

* - It's not 100% that Montagna was made before Sciascia's death, but Cicale suggests Montagna was a made member of Sciascia's crew at the time of his murder. He says Montagna was brought in to meet with the administration and then moved to the DeFilippo crew where he could be under watch. I believe JD has said that none of the informants have placed Montagna in the post-2000 ceremonies that we know of, is that right? Until specific info comes, I don't think it's unreasonable to think he was made in his 20s as Massino was happy to induct young members.

Wasn`t Pietro Ligammari the guy who was found hanged together With his father? One article I looked up said he was not involved in crime but that`s obviously not right. Anyone know anything more about his suicide? Always seemed very strange.

Yeah it was apparently a double suicicde with father and son. They were both made members.

Some doubt in certain circles, because of the extreme rarity of parent-child suicides, but that was the official ruling, if premature in the eyes of some.
LTH and Pic went out that way.

^^Seriously? I know Pic passed, but I didn't know it was from suicide.

The whole Ligammari double suicide thing is very very strange. Like I'm just sitting here thinking, I understand one, but what makes both a father & son whom were made members, want to commit suicide? Like I can't think of an answer other than them violating some type of protocol or rule, and being sought after by their former friends, and deciding to not let them get the "revenge" (I guess you could call it) the members would have sought and deciding to die at their own hands. The whole situation is mystifying to me.
