Genovese capos in Montana and Seattle ?
Came across this tidbit the other day researching. Harold Konigsberg was interviewed by the FBI in 1965.
He told them when he was in California in 1958 he met a lawyer who was a captain in the Genovese family (doesnt say what City). He is described as a general captain. "this individual is he same age as Vito Genovese and comes from the same village as Genovese near Naples. He is dark complexioned, has a big nose and wears glasses."
"In 1958, continues Konigsberg, he met a ‘captain’ in the Genovese family in a town in Montana where all the unions are located. This unknown captain was described as age 57, short brown hair, non-Italian looking.
Konigsberg claimed there was also another ‘captain’ in Seattle, Washington in the Genovese family whom he never saw. This captain has a soldier under him by the last name of Paul (LNU). According to Konigsberg, these captains in the states of Washington and Montana were under the ‘general captain’ in California.”
I never heard of any activity in Montana and not Genovese in Seattle. Also any idea on the Cali captain? Konigsberg was also very forthcoming about Bruno and Decav family members.

The Governor of Washington state at that time was Albert Rosellini, who was a lawyer and close to well-known Seattle racketeer Frank Colacurcio. It later came out that Rosellini had done favors for Colacurcio and his associates.
Here is some interesting info from the MF site about Rosellini:
https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.htm ... 2&tab=page
A criminal in San Francisco named John Gallo (originally from Pittsburgh) claimed that Rosellini's father John was the head of Cosa Nostra in Seattle and had once helped him avoid prison. Rosellini's father had a narcotics arrest in the 1920s.
There was no Cosa Nostra in Seattle and Colacurcio is the closest that they've ever had to a mobster, but you do have to wonder if some of these people had connections.
Konigsberg's info sounds like BS, though.

Thanks for the Seattle info. And I agree on the assessment of Koningsbergs info.B. wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2017 2:57 pm The Governor of Washington state at that time was Albert Rosellini, who was a lawyer and close to well-known Seattle racketeer Frank Colacurcio. The only Genovese made member I can recall in California was Louis Barbella. Were there any others?

My guess it was - at most - people with ties to the family who he mislabeled as captains.
All roads lead to New York.

Montana and Seattle? Furio just got hard.
Re: Genovese capos in Montana and Seattle ?
I used to live in Seattle and it is one of the least Italian cities you'll ever visit. I f'n wish that Governor Rosellini's old man had secretly been running a small mafia family but it has no basis in reality. He was born up near Florence so you can't even trace him to any connected paesani.
Colacurcio was an interesting guy, though. Revolutionized the strip club business in the area and had other rackets in his heyday. Bill Bonanno met with him after doing time at Mcneil Island in Washington but it was in the 1970s and the Bonannos were already shelved.

The only made guy I know of who was a lawyer and a high ranking member in Los Angeles was Carmen Milano, son of longtime Cleveland Mob figure Tony Milano. I've also never heard of any mob crew in Montana and Seattle had a few guys who were into strip clubs was the Colacurcio family. The newspapers and some people in Seattle thought they were organized crime. I don't believe they were LCN.sdeitche wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2017 2:31 pm Came across this tidbit the other day researching. To JCB1077: I could be wrong, or mixed up, but wasn't Carmine Milano underboss at one time for the Los Angeles Family, who turned informant? And wasn't his brother Peter Milano the boss of L A Family when Carmine was underboss? Straighten me out here, please.

To Pogo: Thank you for the info and prompt reply! If you don't mind me asking another question(s), what years were the Milanos in control of the LA Family, are they still in control presently, and, if not, do you have any idea regarding the present administration of the LA Family? I don't intend to start a long thread or discussion on this, just a natural flow from the mention of Carmine Milano.

I believe Anthony MIlano was arrested in Duluth MOntana for counterfitting coins around 1914 or so while he was in hiding ,BeatiPaoli wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2017 8:25 am To JCB1077: I could be wrong, or mixed up, but wasn't Carmine Milano underboss at one time for the Los Angeles Family, who turned informant? Carmen milano was made in either 83 or 84 when he moved to LA. He got disbarred in Ohio for scamming worksman comp claims. He basically became a queen for a day , he even floated to come to cleveland and where a wire .

Peter Milano was Acting Boss from around 1979-1984 and Boss from 1984 until he died in 2012. Though the family was likely finished by then. Carmen Milano was UnderBoss from around 1984 until he sorta flipped in 1996. He died in 2006. There is no administration today as the family is dead.
