A no show job is diffrent than owning your own business
Alot of these guys set up legit businesses and work them with the intent of making money. And being legit that business can generate money for there families if rhey get locked up
When carmen the cheese man had his shop he was always thefe running the plce and it showed . That place was great all kinda if imported cheeses and awesome sandwiches.

I've amended the initial post to include legitimate occupations.

Andrew was a union employee for some time and then later thrown out....then he later had ownership in companies that did biz at the port and I believe he still does to this day. Its the reason that George Barone flipped I believe.Wiseguy wrote:Andrew Gigante had pieces of some waterfront companies but I don't recall him being a union rep. Chin's other son, Vincent Esposito, worked at one of the waste trade associations.

Gravano was a construction company, iirc
Sal Catalano had a bakery
Narducci charters fishing boats and etc..
Johnny Chang still own that news stand?
Frank Cali's produce markets and food import companies are legit and he still owns and operates them to this day. Its the reason he can live high on the hog because he can show a large legit income. Meaning he doesn't have to be involved in LCN to wealthy but he just likes being in LCN. Same goes for Carmine Sciandra the owner of the Top Tomatoe Chain. While his sons own the legal owners of Stores in NJ and they also own allot of the commercial strip malls they are in. Carmine started the Company in SI. He too can live high on the hog and show a large legit income. There are not that many guys that run very successful legit businesses that can show a large legit income without worrying about getting arrested in the feds taking everything from them. Most guys in LCN generate millions in illegal gambling but just are not savvy enough to run a large legit business. So when they get busted they loose everything to the feds. They put too much illegal money in the bank so they are can buy the wife a large home and drive fancy cars but they are seized when they go down. Very few have the smarts to do it right.

That is the biggest mis conception about these guys that they are loaded. He was briefly Boss(some say he was a front for Cali the entire time). If I would have to bet .. I would say hes flush with cash then hes broke. You cant stick your money under your mattress and you cant put it in a bank. You have to be involved in a legit business that generate allot of revenue to be rich. Being a silent partner still doesn't allow you to put money in a bank , have a nice car and a nice house. And you cant have that shit in your wifes name anymore if she doesn't have a large income on the books. There really isn't anyway around it anymore. Either you are living without everything in someone elses name and a large wad of cash in your pocket because you cant deposit in a bank or you are successful like Cali . Back in the day you just had to deposit under $10k in the back to avoid the irs. Now they have bank software that tracks patterns of $2k weekly deposits etc.. Just like they have fraud software they have software that tracks cash deposits. And if you self employed the cash is suppose to be deposited in a Biz account. Have a buddy that avoided jail last yr for depositing cash into 6 different accts in two different banks, All the deposits were like $1500 each into each account over a 3 yrs period. It was $$ from parking lots he owns. He was arrested and charged with not paying taxes . The $$ should have been deposited in his Biz Account. He owed $150k in taxes and somehow avoided jail.TommyGambino wrote:He could be looking after he for all we know, nobody knows the circumstances but he's not broke. Didn't say they were all loaded, just saying because he lived with his mother for however long doesn't automatically been he's broke, as for Cali who knows if he is boss, feds had cefalu, Capeci's sources are split between the 2Rocco wrote:That is the biggest mis conception about these guys that they are loaded.
