Nothing more disturbing than watching 80+ year old men trying to survive prison. You will find the occasional d-bag, and men who really need to die behind bars for their crimes, but for the most part, it's disgusting and many should just be released. Put them on home confinement or intensive supervision or some shit. It's very difficult to get away with shenanigans on home confinement with an ankle bracelet.

I don't know, from my personal experiences with him, he's always come across as legit, and the info he's provided at least with me, was always more or less on point. That's just my personal opinion of the guy.



Going back to the earlier discussion though about Scarfo Jr. I'm reading over these operation heat files (thanks fuhgedaboutit), and it seems that a big reason for Jr's demotion from captain to soldier, indeed is the Philly stuff, and him making noise about "taking over Philadelphia". That's whats put forth during a conversation between Joe & John Perna.

No church will take him Just look to see who the (dead) connected guys in that area have used for their funeral home for themselves or their families and you will no doubt find him there. I doubt he can have a funeral mass at a church.

Trust me ...it was more guys like the Perna's, Merola and several others up north spreading that bullshit around and to the panel in NY then Scarfo JR actually making major plays at taking over Philly. They wanted Scarfo out of the picture . It was going to happen regardless of what Scarfo Jr was doing or not doing. Mike Perna was set for release in a few yrs. He and Matty Maddonna became very close in Lewisburg and stayed in touch thru Ralpn when Matty got out . Mike P was going to be running the show in the end and Scarfo was going to be out. That was part of why Scarfo Jr moved south as soon as he got of prison the last time. Remember he was still Capo when he got the hell out of North Jersey. I don't believe Scarfo Jr ever had a chance to take of Philly and that he was just pressing Merlino's buttons. Heere is another Fact. Prior to getting knocked down the Perna's were not kicking up to him. Only Marty was sending money to Scarfo. Perna's were dealing directly with Madonna and DiNapoli before Scarfo got knocked down. It had been in the works long before Scarfo even walked out of Jail for his last sentence. Don't believe that for a second that Nicky JR was going to just take over Philly. Newspapers like that shit though. Just look at the crew Scarfo was arrested with. Certainly doesn't look like a Lucchese Crime family crew. He was a loan wolf.

Overall though, I think a lot of the murders from the Bruno/Testa fallout get attributed to his "reign", then you had the shit with Riccobene where Scarfo was in the right politically. I'm not arguing the guy wasn't a stone killer, but some of the shit written about him is over the top. Testa, Stanfa, and Merlino were just as trigger happy as Scarfo.

I have seen some documents where the feds used the phili takeover for scaro sr and jr to obtain wiretaps on various things. its possible thats how they got onto the finacial scam

I think a couple of the old timers he did business with in the Genovese and Gambino families might attend and some of the old school guys in Philly and the other families for the simple fact Scarfo kept quiet. Also a few mob groupies might wander in. It doesn't sound like he has much family left, are either of his two wives still alive?
