Did Sammy the Bull Gravano do more than 19 hits?

Sammy always said he would never testify against anyone in his crew. However the more I think about it, there had to be hits he sanctioned and perhaps participated in with his crew that would move those goal posts further away from 19 hits. With him out of the witness protection plan - could someone on the fed side flip one of his old crew members about one of those hits and perhaps get him jammed up?

Really he didn't even come close to 19. A lot of those are just hits he knew about before they happened but never really had a role in.

Wasn't the guy he actually killed a Colombo member/associate?

For some reason Shorty Spero rings a bell but I'm really full and tired so this name could have been completely made up by me at the moment...ha.

I actually don't think Gravano lied about any of the murders he was involved in. There was no reason to. And a big reason not to lie lest it fuck up his deal. But yeah according to him he only actually pulled the trigger in the Colucci murder. And that was for Spero. But Pogo is right that a lot of the 19 are ones he just knew were going to happen. Although I do sometimes wonder if he had more to do with his brother in law's murder than he admitted. But Carlo(not to speak ill of the dead but awful writer) claimed in his books that there were more murders. Particularly the Calabro hit, but I don't buy it. There was just no reason for him not to admit them. But I could be wrong.

In the 25th anniversary edition of 'Wiseguy' Nick Pileggi claims that the Gravano crew killed Angelo Sepe and his girlfriend in 1984. No evidence given to back this up however.

Interesting. I had not heard that. But I can't think of a logical reason why he wouldn't admit to that if he was involved. I will say that using Sammy's Brooklyn crew to hit a Kennedy airport hijacker(and Gravano doesn't seem to have ever been involved in hijacking) from another family seems odd. Gottis crew doing it makes more sense. But a very interesting claim.
