Tyrannical Mafia boss Nicodemo 'Little Nicky' Scarfo, 87, dies in prison hospital
Nicodemo ''Little Nicky'' Scarfo, the tyrannical mob boss who ruled the Philadelphia underworld in the 1980s, died yesterday in ....has died while serving out a life sentence at a federal medical center in North Carolina. He was 87.
Once described in a government sentencing memorandum as a man who sought and achieved a career in the major leagues of crime, Scarfo was considered one of the most violent organized crime leaders in the country.
H Michael E. Riley, an attorney for Scarfo's son, Nicodemo S. "Nicky" Scarfo, said Sunday that the elder Scarfo died at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, N.C., over the weekend. Riley was not certain of the time or cause of death, but said Scarfo, 87, had been "in deteriorating health for awhile" and that he heard about Scarfo's passing on Saturday.

Re: Scarfo Sr is dead.
I don't think he was convicted of 20 murders. I know he was not guilty on testa and flowers was overturned. I can't recall which murders were included in his rico conviction maybe someone else can help on thiswillychichi wrote:Its interesting that he only got 55 years for killing over 20 members/associates you would think with that body count he would have gotten life.

"Leonetti's defection came at about the same time Scarfo's oldest son, Christopher, had his name legally changed. Chris Scarfo, an Atlantic City real estate broker, wanted no part of his father's "business," according to law enforcement and mob sources alike. So he petitioned Atlantic County Superior Court and assumed the maiden name of his wife. Both he and his son, Nicodemo Scarfo's only grandchild, no longer use the Scarfo name."

Okay, the above article posted by WillyChiChi answered my question....
Is he still in the Atlantic City real estate market?

Going from memory he was convicted for the conspiracy to murder Salvy Testa, John Calabrese, Vincent Falcone, Edwin Helfant, Pat Spirito, Bobby Riccobene as well as the attempt on Stevie Vento. Was he also charged with the Frank Narducci Sr. murder and the attempts on Harry Riccobene and Frank Martines? I don't remember.
He had previously been charged with the Testa murder but was acquitted but it ended up being included as a predicate act in his RICO case. He was convicted for the Frankie Flowers D'Alfonso murder in a separate trial but had it overturned and was acquitted at the retrial.
