He was a co-d of mine. Claimed in our indictment he was a Gambino soldier, however, on Mafia takedown day they claimed he was a Columbo lol. But you know how those go. I always felt sorry for him because of the 22 years he did only to be found innocent in the end. I listened to about 3,000 hours of the discovery tapes (10,000 fucking hours worth) and heard what bullshit this wired up pedophile put him thru. Made me furious. Not to mention while he was playing rope a dope with Scott and Anthony, he was simultaneously yanking my chain. Telling me they stole everything from him and asking me to help him. Thank God I finally figured out the rat was full of shit and nothing he said was ever true and none of his promises ever materialized. But it was too late for me by then, I had been hooked by the mouth and didn't even realize it until 2 years later.
Fappiano & Anthony Bazzini were the only 2 defendants in our case to take it to trial. I'll never forget, on MLK Jr's birthday, the night before the trial was scheduled to begin, prosecutor offered both of them like a year or 18 months, they took it. They were each facing RICO charges and major time if convicted.

Dunno if he was made, I could be wrong but I believe the article said he was imprisoned on the rape charge when he was 22 years old, and was released in 2006. That's most of his capable adult years right there, all spent in the can. Could've possibly been an Al D'Arco type and was made later on at an later age. Add in the fact that he was once classified as belonging to two different families, as Garbageman pointed out. But who knows, I just know that he caught a bad break with the rape thing, and should've been PAID. Shame he died so young at 55. My condolences go out to his family.

He did get 2 million from NY state for wrongful incarceration. Then he tried suing the NYPD for tampering with witnesses to frame him for the rape. The judge found no merit to his assertions and dismissed his case.
My summary judgement: no fuckin way is 22 years in a state pen worth only 2 million bucks. The cops framing the thing, easy to believe, impossible to prove and win. It was a cops wife who was brutally raped and beaten in front of her cop husband. You know they wanted blood. Tragedy all the way around.
