Re: Mobster Suicides
Giuseppe Giacomo Gambino - ex-boss San Lorenzo; one of the most fierce of the corleonesi; had cancer
Antonino Gioè - ex-boss Altofonte; strangled himself with shoelaces; caught on a bug talking about the "great" attack of Capaci; Brusca recalled he was considered more secret services than a member of Cosa Nostra
Giuseppe Biondo - member San Lorenzo family; explosives expert he learned from military service; involved in Via D'Amelio; strangled himself with sheets
Gaetano Lo Presti - acting boss Porta Nuova; caught on a bug disputing the 2008 commission; many arrested because of this; killed himself in jail the next day
Francesco Baiamonte - ex-boss Casteltermini(AG); received 10 years jail sentence; killed himself; was suspected by some people to be part of Vincenzo Puccio's group against Riina in 1989
Pietro Ribisi - ex-boss Palma di Montechiaro; serving life sentence for the murder of Judge Antonino Saetta and his son Stefano
Francesco Intile - ex-boss Caccamo; boss who made Nino Giuffrè when John Stanfa was also present in 1980
More than this if we really search.

Re: Mobster Suicides
Toto, did Gioe' really kill himself or was he "suicided"? His death was too convenient for the secret services who dealt with him when needed to contact the mafia bosses.
And about Pietro Ribisi, was he ever a boss, or at least a made member? This article in Italian
http://www.solfano.it/canicatti/sentenzasaetta.html
says that only Rosario, Gioacchino and Ignazio Ribisi were made members, the others weren't, and 3 of the brothers being made into the same family was already an exception, because usually no more than 2 are allowed.

my translation, not perfect, but more or less it says this:Pietro Ribisi non aveva potuto assumere la qualita’ di uomo d’onore per la regola vigente in “Cosa Nostra” per cui non potevano far parte dell’organizzazione più di due fratelli, tant’è che la presenza di Rosario, Ignazio e Gioacchino costituiva già una deroga.
Pietro Ribisi couldn't become a man of honor due to the Cosa Nostra rule, according to which no more than two brothers could be part of the organization, so the presence of Rosario, Ignazio and Gioacchino was already an exception.

It's possible Gioè was "suicided" but I don't think so. It is convenient.Dwalin2014 wrote:Toto, did Gioe' really kill himself or was he "suicided"? His death was too convenient for the secret services who dealt with him when needed to contact the mafia bosses.

I never saw that about Ribisi Pietro so it could be correct. But I doubt he wasn't a member especially to be involved in the murder of a judge.
Re: Mobster Suicides
Anthony Colletti committed suicide. Anthony Colletti was the nephew of Charles Colletti aka Little Charlie, who was a part of Frank Milano's Mayfield Road Mob and was a stone face killer. Anthony Colletti was found hanging in his jail cell on October 3, 1931

Re: Mobster Suicides
Exactly correct, but coroner ruled suicide due to markings and no hematoma that would suggest possibly a fight or struggle. Brancato certainly could have convinced him or scared him into suicide...but we'll never know for certain.Stroccos wrote:He killed his wife hung him self on the eve of the trial, body was found by his cell mate Frank BRancato, some thought he may of been whackedJCB1977 wrote:Anthony Colletti committed suicide. Didn't Frank Cucchiara of the Patriarca family commit suicide in 1976? He attended Apalachin.
