No it was Lucibello. Bellochi claimed he was his best friend and implicated him in a lot of Stanfa's hits when he flipped. From my notes Bellochi implicated Lucibello in the following.

-An accessory after the fact in the Franceso DiGiacomo murder in November 1992.

-The getaway driver and the gun supplier in the attempted hit of Biagio Adornetto on Dec. 30, 1992.

-The killer and getaway driver in the Jan. 7, 1993 Rod Colombo hit. As well as one of those stalking to kill club owner Dale Lalwani in 1992 (for refusing to pay tribute) and Ron Mazzone (for skimming money).


They were also made around the same time so I was wondering if he was one of the "zips" (for lack of a better term) that Stanfa was using. I guess he wasn't. Thanks.

Interesting. I knew he implicated Lucibello in those murders, but I didn't realize he had called him his "best friend". I assume the reality is that they were hanging around together a lot when they were under Stanfa and played the part of close friends, as many of those guys do.

I think he also testified that he was still in love with Sara Stanfa, haha. "I put your father away for the rest of his life, but I'll make it up to you, baby..."

Did it ever specify anywhere where Bellochi came from? Most specific I ever seen was Sicily.

I think the Lucibellos were one of those families that were in Philadelphia before the great migration.

The early Gambinos from E39 and 1st were from Canicatti and Favara, connected to people from that area down on Elizabeth and Harlem (sparingly). Ignazio Lupo's cousins in Palermo were related to people from Agrigento who came to E39.

Nicky the Crow briefly mentions him in Blood and Honor as one of the guy's he knew on the street when he was coming up in the 70s (refering to him only as Joe Mouse). Massimino got cought up in that big Philly drug case in 1987 and went to prison. He got out in 1992 and was made by Stanfa. He didn't last long before he went back to prison in 1993 for gambling and racketeering. He got out in 1998 just in time to see most of the family go away leaving him as the Acting UnderBoss. He got busted again in 2001 for running a gambling and loansharking opertion in South Jersey but on that one he managed to stay on bail until 2004. He got out in 2009 but got sweeped up again in the 2011 case. So he has been in prison most of the last 30 years.

Mousie must be so broke his whole life. Every time he starts to earn he is shipped off to prison. He gets just a taste of the good life he had so much about..then LE pulls out the rug under him. He's gotta be one of the least successful criminals out there. They call him a career criminal but he hasn't been on the street long enough to have a career in oc. ! Lol
