Funny how the Luccheses have a member named Vinny Casablanca and another member nicknamed Vinny Casablanca (Mancione).

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

That's a funny coincidence. Then again, there's an endless amount of Vinnys out there.

Just to clarify, the John Spirito in this indictment is the imprisoned one, not his son who is an alleged acting capo, right?

After reading the indictment I think it's clear that someone from New York was wearing a wire

Also interesting that O'Nofrio is heading the Springfield crew, I thought Albert Calvanese was running that crew.

No, it´s the son. I´m a little bit amazed that he´s only 34. Wasn´t he said to have been an acting skipper, what...three, four years ago?

Eugene D´Onofrio (or Onofrio) was wanted back in 1972 for a murder committed in New Haven, Connecticut with two other men (one of them being Donald Perretti/Parretti later identified by newspapers as a soldier in the Gambino Family). The victim was a James Cotter. Apparently he was convicted after a trial but the Connecticut Supreme Court threw out the conviction because the lower court allowed prejudicial photographs to be used as evidence.

D´Onofrio is a veteran but may not have been made that long ago. Because it looks like the Genovese crew up in Connecticut/Massachusetts did not have any made members left on the street only a couple of years ago. It also appears he runs a Genovese crew based on Mulberry Street, NY. Was he acting for Conrad Ianniello perhaps? Or Messera?
There you have it, never printed before.

It specifically says a CW from the Genovese family was approved to work with/for Merlino, so yep.

Yeah, I see now it says he is 34. Same nickname and no "junior" designation, so a little confusing. Seems the Bonanno Bronx guys are still pretty involved with the other families in the area, despite "gossip" that they don't have presence there.

Nicodemo was a big fish, if he talked every top guy in Philly would be going down on murder charges, and why would he decide to flip after four years?

They don´t have presence there like they used to have when Basciano was running the show. Many of the Bronx Bonannos actually were/are from other parts of NY. Basciano´s crew for example, had many Brooklyn and Queens based guys. And most of the others, including the ones who used to be under DeFilippo/Mancuso, are dead, inactive or in jail.

No doubt. These two are second generation Bronx members believed to be close to Mancuso, which is why I pointed it out.
