Re: Frank DeCicco
Having the DeCicco familly on my mind in the last couple of days I came across this question and I wonder if some of you guys can help me..? It's very well known that Tommy Bilotti became capo in november 19th 1981. Correct? Well, my question is this, if Paul made Frankie DeCicco capo in 1981 instead of Tommy Bilotti would the Gambino familly history be changed and how?
Looking foward to some answers.
Thanks.

Re: Frank DeCicco
NINO went to sicily and stuck his nose in their biz
Re: Frank DeCicco
Nino went to Sicily after Bontate was murdered. He wanted to make a war against RIina but Salvatore Inzerillo already decided at that time to go with Riina. He was secretly doing drug trafficking with him according to Contorno so he was confident he will not be killed. When Nino went there the Corleonesi killed Salvatore and Santo and probably decided to kill them all. Salvatore was always going to be murdered. Pippo Calo never forgot how Inzerillo was the one who organized the murder of Gaetano Costa and did in Porta Nuova territory.
When Castellano heard about what was happening he wanted to help them so he sent John Gambino to see what they must do. Gambino and Rosario Naimo went there and Riina told them they must kill Nino and Pietro (Salvatore's brother) and Naimo has to make sure the guarantee Inzerillo's can never return. Nino was very difficult to kill and they really had to trap him in Casamento's deli. Casamento pushed him in the back and Frank DeCicco was there with Joe Watts and some other guys who killed him. Giovanni was angry and was kicking Nino's body. He blamed him for the murders they had to do and all the ones the Corleonesi killed.
Some other murders in America was Pietro Inzerillo and Giacomo Impastato murdered 15 January 1982. I think he was a member of St. Louis family.

Re: Frank DeCicco
Not close at all - probably they only heard of each other. Even inside Sicily many bosses never met each other. Salvatore Cancemi was acting boss of Porta Nuova for 6/7 years a member of the commission but he never met Nitto Santapaola boss of Catania.
Castellano was trying to save his relatives. When he heard what was happening he wanted to do a good deed for them according to Saro Naimo. That's why he told Giovanni he must go to Palermo.
Riina told Alberto Lorusso John Gotti sent a message "come in New york anyt time you like". Probably Gotti heard about Riina and liked the idea of the guy who killed everybody to be boss especially he killed Castellano's relatives. The same for Riina who liked the idea of the guy who killed to become boss especially the relative of the Inzerillo.

Amazing to see the international reach these guys used to have. Other than Cali, any other families still have these type of ties to Sicily?

He got himself in a little bit of trouble back in 1971 when he refused to testify in front of a Brooklyn Grand Jury. Although he was given immunity, he still refused to answer questions. He was convicted of contempt but a Supreme Court threw out the conviction and dismissed the indictment against him. However, the Brooklyn district attorney appealed this ruling and the Appellate court reversed it and the judge sentenced him to three months in prison. DeCicco had a record from 1931 which included a convicton for robbery. He had been charged a couple of times for numbers running and gambling but I´m not sure he served any time for that. He was made in the 1950s.
He had four brothers: Edward, Albert, George and Joe "Butter". Joe is the one seen in several documentaries talking up John Gottl like he was the best thing since sliced bread. Edward and Albert died while living in Florida, if I´m not mistaken and George died recently. George had a club on 1656 Bath Avenue, Brooklyn originally called The Paradise Social club. Joe "Butters" died in 2004.
Bronx, why was Vincent "Jimmy" called "Boozy"? Was he a heavy drinker?
There you have it, never printed before.
