Update

Our site has been behind for some time now (about 6 to 8 months behind, FF and HK can vouch of this), and needs to be updated asap. I've been noticing the site has been acting very strange the last 6 weeks. Two example, 1. B. once logged in one time and it said he was me/admin (B. could vouch for this). 2. Just yesterday when I shelved GV it showed that it did but it really didn't. At first I thought I missed something but today I went back and check and saw that I did everything I was suppose to. So this leads me to believe that the site is just acting real strange due to it being so far behind. We are currently on version 3.0.12 and the latest version is 3.1.8, I usually just do the update myself (which is very time consuming), but I have been way to busy and no longer have the time to do it. The bottom line is, I feel It's getting to risky to keep going like this.

So, I have contacted phpBB and they have told me that they would do it for $100, so I'm asking for 95 (out of 300+) members to Donate $1, I've already add $5. I will fwd (anyone who is willing to donate) the email to you from phpbb so that you know I'm not trying to take anyone's money for myself or pull a fast on you. You can pm me and ask for it or you can ask for the email in a post right here and ill fwd it to your email. If for whatever reason you can't do it, don't worry about it, trust me when I say this, you wont be treated any different if you choose not to donate, most of you should know me by now, I'm not wired that way. Ill give this 4 weeks from today, whatever we don't have ill cover the rest, even if it's the full amount, ether way this site will be updated in 4 weeks. Thank you all very much.......Soliai

I know you're going to wait about one more week for donations before updating the site. The answer to my question could impel users who haven't donated yet to perhaps donate a bit more than $1.00 if there is a shortfall right now.

2. If the response has been low, could you perhaps send every user a donation request by sending a PM? an e-mail?

There are 357 users, but this thread has only been viewed 142 times. Because some users would have revisited your original post to view the replies, I would estimate that perhaps less than one third of all users are aware of your request for donations, with the number of users probably being a lot lower.

3. Do you have a preference as to which currency the donation is made in? Will the $100.00 payment to phpBB me made in US dollars?

The currency options that we are given for donating are the US dollar, Euro, British pound sterling, Japanese yen, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, and Hong Kong dollar. Just wondering whether your life is made easier if a donation is made in one of these in particular.

Thanks Antimafia, but I will not and do not want to pm or email members. That would lead members to feel that they are being pressured to donate and I don't want that. I want members to donate because they want to, not because they are pressured too, or feel that they have to or they will be treated any less. And to be honest, when I first posted this post, I felt guilty doing it, I wasn't sure and I'm still not sure if asking members to donate was the right thing to do. I am happy at were we are at. I will pm and/or email all those who did donate a copy of the receipt from phpBB when its all said and done, so that those who did donate know that I'm being honest with their money.
