Is this a reliable source? Says he was shelved in 2006? He didn’t seem like a guy who had ever been made when on Gordon Ramsey lol

Here's what Jerry wrote on him back in 2011.

The Worm Turns On Peter Pasta

The beefy guy in the white tee-shirt giving Mayor Mike Bloomberg a smiling arm-around is Peter (Peter Pasta) Pellegrino. The shot was snapped at Da Silvano, the chic lower Manhattan restaurant at a time when Pellegrino was riding high as a mob associate. He couldn’t resist taking one with city police commissioner Ray “Popeye” Kelly too. Just for laughs, you know.

But that was then. Now, the worm has turned for Peter Pasta. Gone is the white Mercedes convertible, the $15,000 a week he pocketed as a bookmaker, the winters in Miami, and his own popular Italian restaurant in Babylon, Long Island where businessmen, politicians and just plain folk rubbed elbows with wiseguys as they dined. Gone too are his boats – “High Anxiety,” and “The Usual Suspects” – that he docked in Great South Bay, a block away from his eatery.

Today, like the battered and bruised Bonanno crime family that once propped him up, Pellegrino, 45, is just another brokester, an unemployed grunt looking for a job. Worse, last year, not long after his once booming restaurant, Peter Pasta’s Café on Main Street in Babylon shuttered, his father died. Oh, and the rest of his blood family, the Pellegrinos, have disowned him. His mob family, the Bonannos, have falsely labeled him “a rat,” with all its obvious nasty ramifications and ugly possibilities hanging over his head.

Wait, it gets worse: Fox TV has been re-running the “Kitchen Nightmares” episode he did with bad-boy British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay in 2007 “that makes me look like a jerkoff and some kind of an animal, and worse,” moans Pellegrino. “It’s a real-life nightmare. It just ran again, on Friday or Saturday,” he said.

“My father always used to tell me, ‘When you got cash, you’re a smash; when you’re broke, you’re a joke.’ That’s me now,” said Pellegrino, who agreed to speak to Gang Land about his plight because “nothing can happen to make life worse for me than it is right now.”

The son of a Genovese family bookmaker, Pellegrino ignored his father’s advice to stay away from “the life.” Instead of seeking a legitimate life, said Pellegrino, he gravitated to the rival Bonanno family and in the 1980s hooked up with then-capo Salvatore Vitale.

If he was looking for attention, he got it. More than he wanted. A March 3, 2003 FBI report obtained by Gang Land describes Peter Pasta as a “recently made member of the Bonanno family” under capo Jerome Asaro. But Pellegrino, who has never been arrested, as well as law enforcement officials, say that the longtime mob associate was never inducted into the crime family.

Not that he didn’t want to be straightened out. “I was proposed that winter,” said Pellegrino. But intense FBI pressure at the time – including the indictment of Vitale and Bonanno boss Joe Massino in January – and the subsequent arrests of acting bosses Anthony (Tony Green) Urso and Vincent (Vinny Gorgeous) Basciano in 2004, scotched those plans.

In the summer of 2005, as business at Peter Pasta’s Café declined, the wannabe wiseguy’s problems grew. That happened when his brother-in-law, Lawrence Zaino, a reputed Genovese associate, allegedly assaulted him, then obtained something mobsters don’t usually get: An “order of protection” against him in the so-called “family dispute,” said Pellegrino.

“Larry made hundreds of copies of the order and distributed them saying, ‘Stay away from Peter Pellegrino, he’s a rat.’ He took it to clubs in all five boroughs, in Howard Beach, the Village, everywhere. They wanted to humiliate me. ‘Tell everyone,’ he said. Next thing, I got money on the street, not much, but they’re collecting it.”

As his cash dried up, he learned from a restaurant customer about Fox TV’s plans to import Ramsay’s British TV series to the U.S. It got him thinking: Why not Peter’s Pasta Café? After all, the place, which opened in 1989, had gotten a decent review in the New York Times back in 2001. And John Gotti once ate there. He pitched his restaurant to the show.

“I figured,” recalled Pellegrino, “Maybe it’s time for something new in my life, they’re legitimate people. Lemme take a shot.”

Again, his luck ran south. Instead of getting stars, his restaurant got panned, for all the world to see.

The complete show – it was the U.S. inaugural episode and ran on September 19, 2007 – is available on the Fox website. Or you can catch some footage on YouTube: The crab cakes were cold and over-garnished, says Ramsay; the lobster ravioli was “baby food inside gunk.”

Peter Pasta doesn’t come off much better. He looks and sounds like the arrogant wannabe wiseguy that he was.

“Instead of buying a stove,” Pellegrino cracks during a bit about malfunctioning ovens and a broken broiler, “I bought a suit, ya know.”

A year later, as he, his father and sister Tina were negotiating with a potential buyer to sell the restaurant, says Pellegrino, a Bonanno wiseguy alerted the landlord that the restaurant had failed to renew its corporation papers a few years earlier and was in technical violation of its lease. So, the landlord evicted them.

“Can you believe that?” said Pellegrino. “I never cooperated, and I never will, and they call me a rat. And they pull a rat move to screw me and my family.”

Having soured on the double-dealing mob life, Peter Pasta has gone legit. That hasn't worked out so well either.

He said he has been unable to land a real job anywhere. He cited a litany of rejections as a waiter, maître d, car service driver, busboy, even dishwasher.

“One guy, he’s a millionaire, he owned IHOPs all over. A good guy, used to come into the restaurant in Babylon. There’s a ‘Help Wanted’ sign in one of his places, so I went to see him” in May, said Pellegrino. “I said, ‘Don, I’m coming to you with my hat in my hand. I need a job. I don’t want to take over the place, be a manager. I’ll start as a dishwasher, anything.’

“He says, ‘I can’t do that to you.’ I say, ‘Do it to me, I’m hurting.’ He goes, ‘Well, the whole world is hurting.’ I say, ‘I really need a job.’ He says, ‘Give me your number, I’ll call when something comes up.’ He never called,” said Pellegrino.

“Everybody’s ducking me,” he said. “They put out on the streets that I’m a stool pigeon. So people connected to the life, they run away from me. And legitimate people are afraid that the mob is looking to kill me, so they don’t want me there working for them. And the people that knew none of that, they seen me on the TV show, and think I’m a nut job, so they won’t hire me.”

Gang Land suggested there was one deep-pocketed pal he could still try: Mayor Bloomberg. We think Pasta’s still trying to get through.

This is from The Wiseguy Lounge IG account.

It also has totally unverified info about Pellegrino being bumped from acting captain to official captain over a florida crew and a ridgewood queens crew allied with Albanians. It says he was shelved in 2005 for arguing with his captain Nicky Santora and taken off in 2017 when he started earning well and caught the eye of Mikey Nose. It’s goes on to say he has some Sicilians in his crew also and throws in a little info about Bruno Indelicato. IG won’t let me copy and paste so this summary must suffice.

That Instagram post (I think you need to follow the account to view stuff, so that's why it can't be linked) looks like a summarised version of what was mentioned in the Cosa Nostra News article linked by Anti:

He's a Capo now........

Report Out Of NYC: Feds Investigating Bonnano Mob, New Capo, “Petey Pasta” Pellegrino, In Rackets Case

May 6, 2025 — Once-shelved Bonanno mobster Peter (Petey Pasta) Pellegrino is active again, a skipper in his borgata and running crews in Queens and Florida. And finds himself in the middle of a federal racketeering probe, all per a bombshell CosaNostraNews dispatch earlier this week. “Petey Pasta” has received a letter from the government telling him he is the target of an investigation and that conversations of his were intercepted on a 2022 wiretap. He was also subpoenaed by the feds in March to provide voice sample templars at FBI headquarters, CosaNostraNews reported on Monday.

Florida definitely would be the best gig to run a crew. Warm, tropical, beautiful women and great restaurants and nightlife. You can't go wrong. Plus great place to live with beautiful real estate to choose from depending what you are looking for.
