Crazy Zappola was one of the point guys to take out the entire Lucchese Jersey Crew...now he's running it.
Was that really a thing. Cmon
Yeah I always thought that was more of a Volkman bullshit thing from Gangbusters.
Even if said, it couldnt have been a serious order.

Hit 20+ guys. Ok.
Yeah, no.
After a slew of problems with Accetturo, Amuso sent for the whole crew. When not a single guy showed up he said ‘whack jersey’ which was more of a standing order to whack any of them they could get their hands on than it was an order to kill each and everyone of them.

That is pretty wild
Zappola’s entire career has been wild.
It’s worth noting that DeSantis was also part of the hit team that conspired to take out the Jersey crew

D’Arco confirmed this within his book. Vic wanted them dead because they were not “outlaws” in his eyes. After the order was given out, some of them came back to the family and they were accepted.
Tumac was very greedy. He should have accepted that 50 percent would go the admin, Tumac had more than enough money. He was to content with only kicking up 10k per year under Tony Ducks who he was very cozy with

While the administration had a right to ask for more than $10,000 a year (Jersey should have known that would not last forever) requiring half the crew's earnings was what was greedy.

IMO you are looking at it too literally. I think they gave the green light on all 20+ but assumed if they were successful in taking 3-4 of them out (maybe even one if it was Tumac) that the rest would fall in line. Remember, this is Vic and Gas we are talking about. They were whacking people everywhere.

It’s excessive, no doubt but they had the Lucchese flag in Jersey and operated with autonomy. All of this was possible because of the admin. Tumac should have accepted instead of instigating the situation.
Thomas Carew - “He had a case and after he beat the case, he wasn’t turning in money to the family and then he refused to come in when they wanted to see him. He kept making excuses and not coming in.” I’m not sure if the money that Carew was referring to was 50 percent at that time

Agree 1000%. A softer touch was needed, the way they handled that whole situation really showed how unprepared they were for the top spot.

It's a reasonable request but an unreasonable figure.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

He's the boss now. He calls the tune and we all dance to it. It's the way it's always been done. You can either respect what's been done in the past or change the rules.
Big Joe doesnt have much of a record just a few old gambling cases. If DHL didnt lay him off years ago he would still most likely be working for them playing poker and taking occasional bets.
