There are pictures of Zappola and Narducci behind bars so this isn’t to surprising but nonetheless, I assumed that Narducci was retired

I don't see how. All we have is a member of one family meeting a member of another. That's not to say Narducci is close to Merlino and his guys but it doesn't support the notion of a family within a family as people like to say.

Merlino talks about Phil as if they are still friendly. He doesn't talk like there is any ill will like you see on these forums. It could just be a respect thing, but he doesn't speak negatively at all. Which he usually does with people he don't like.
