Where did you get that information about 3 squads from?7digits wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 5:27 pm John Pennisi says it’s true. Law Enforcement is talking about all of these things. Becuase if much much less resources than they had with the execute raids there not indicting people right away takes a year or more to get indicted. There’s only 3 squads in New York focused on the five family and those 3 squads also handle the New Jersey Family, The 5 Families, Russian OC and Albanian OC

Again, Gene Gotti is not on parole. He's involved in the life, you can't keep him from doing what he wants to do.
He will become boss in my honest opinion.

That's in HB Queens, the main avenue there, cross bay Blvd or some shit lol
I was wondering where he was talking about, I would've thought that place on the corner of rockaway in OZP- enzos, aldos?? Maybe one of the queens guys know where I mean, Amoroso was the owners name.
I get the feeling Scott pays a low rate associate of the Gambinos for "info". Whoever his source is, seems like he takes it as gospel. At best they get secondhand rumors, at worst they're making shit up. But all in all, Scott's probably just another mark for them. It's probably some junkie or gambler who needed 500 bucks...
I can't blame them to be honest, I'm over here thinking about offering him a "hot fresh scoop" for a couple hundred myself, just to see how dumb he is lmao

I can't see Gene becoming boss. Of course this is pure speculation on my part but I think the majority of the family would see gene getting the reins as going backwards. They're better off with the quiet Sicilian leadership. If Gene is in fact back in the fold they can placate him by giving him some power or autonomy, but there's much more sophisticated, low profile, guys that I have to believe the family would rather in charge. That Gotti name brings way too much heat and headlines, and after 35 years on the inside, there has to have been relationships, rapport, and good will made with guys and other families that Gene does not have at this point. Just my two cents.
If nobody sees it, it didn't happen.

there is a restruant called matteo's ih HB that is a well known gambino spot with a owner/co-owner named Amorosong wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 4:10 amThat's in HB Queens, the main avenue there, cross bay Blvd or some shit lol

Re: Gene Gotti re-establishing control of Gotti Regime.
Yep, Anthony senior was around him forever but there's no telling who he's with now. Anthony Jr hung around John the third but I think that whole family is legit these days. Maybe the dad pays one of the gottis but usually they would just overpay the connected kids for bullshit catering work. That wasn't my crowd but we had some mutual friends and worked shit like weddings together. Ant junior looked like growing up gotti when he was young but as far as I know he's a respectable guy these days. That restaurant deserves plenty of praise too, they treated you like a prince even if they barely knew you.aray22 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:36 amAnthony Amoroso. Re: Gene Gotti re-establishing control of Gotti Regime.
The article calls it a ‘restaurant and catering hall’ so if that’s an accurate description it’s a place more like Gargiulo’s where you can go out to dinner or have a wedding reception than it is a place like Matteo’s that’s strictly a restaurant. In the old days there were dozens of places like this in Brooklyn but not anymore. Gargiulo and Giando were the only places in Brooklyn that fit that description I could think of off the top of my head. Anthony Prudenti owns Giando and I always thought he was around the Genovese family but maybe that’s wrong.

Matteos has 2 big party rooms, one upstairs one downstairs & restaurant is on main floorjohnny_scootch wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 7:17 pmThe article calls it a ‘restaurant and catering hall’ so if that’s an accurate description it’s a place more like Gargiulo’s where you can go out to dinner or have a wedding reception than it is a place like Matteo’s that’s strictly a restaurant. Ahhh, I didn’t know that not my neck of the woods. I’ve only been in the restaurant part a few times, not sure I would count it as a ‘catering hall’ even with that knowledge and it not being in Brooklyn eliminates it from being a possibility anyway but thanks for the info cheers.

Re: Gene Gotti re-establishing control of Gotti Regime.
Didn't the last bust involving these "sophistacted" Sicilians have a Gambino Captain pictured buying gas to burn down a restaraunt? I don't know why people assume they are sophisticated, if they are from areas with vast corruption like Italy then they aren't faced with the same LE pressure as America. That's why they suffer less consequences and flip less they aren't somehow inherently better at crime than others, the State dictates the level criminals can reach as we've seen with every top tier criminal ever: Pablo Escobar, El Chapo, Riina.JakeTheSnake630 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 5:37 am I can't see Gene becoming boss. This story is ridiculous but so is the idea of certain criminals being "sophisticated" because they were born in Sicily. They are all violent idiots they are just more protected in certain areas.
Re: Gene Gotti re-establishing control of Gotti Regime.
The Sicilian mafia is under way more pressure than the US members. They can and do get hit with prison sentences for even talking to another member or associate and no law like that exists in the US. Then once they're in prison they can get hit with a 41-bis and are basically cut off from the entire world. They're under way more scrutiny and Sicilian members do flip all the time now. It's a bigger uphill battle for Italian LE though because the mafia is so ingrained and all over the island.
I do agree with you thought that "Sicilian" does not mean sophisticated and plenty of them are thuggish. A big difference with the Sicilians is they are more clannish and take the traditional mafia values more seriously. Lanni was from the Sicilian faction but it should be pointed out he doesn't appear to be Sicilian himself. Still he represents them and as you said it shows their group isn't worlds different from other NY mobsters.
