Detroit LCN 2025 and Future

Post by Tocco686 »

I would love to get a thread going for Detroit. I am going to be adding to this thread every chance I get. This will be only about Detroit LCN. Current and Past. Feel free to add any info you might have.

Now, I’ll start off by saying of what I think the current landscape in Detroit is in 2025. While I know these guys are still around, I do believe they are a shell of what they used to be. Most just coasting off name recognition. The younger crop just isn’t there. Most of these guys kids used their parents/grandparents wealth to start legit businesses. Most have been pretty successful. Jack Tocco said a long time ago that he wanted them to have business degrees being boardroom gangsters.

Currently I believe there is no true Hierarchy. I just think it’s a handful of them left. Not to say they don’t have associates underneath them dealing and robbing and so on. So I’ll just put who I believe is still active in Metro Detroit. Could be more, but here’s who I think is still on the streets today. I’m only putting active Made guys who I believe are still running things under the Detroit Banner of LCN. This is not a definite chart. Just my educated guess. I think we’re seeing the beginning of the end for a formal structure of LCN in Michigan. We’ll probably turn into a KC type of family soon.

Jack Giacalone- Basically a shut in. Just built a mansion home in Clarkston. Believe to be boss in name only. Anthony Lapiana and the D’Annas running everything behind the scenes. Used to hang out at The stage Deli every Tuesday with Pete Tocco. Since Pete passed have not seen him there.

Vince Giacalone- Owns Passport Pizza with a little bookmaking on the side. Brother of Jackie.

D’Anna Brothers- Running a whole separate faction with blacks and unknown zip crew running heroin for them on the Eastside. Have pretty much fazed out Aceto and the bikers for the drug trade on that part of town. They also own D’Anna Construction

Anthony Lapiana- Discretely running things behind the scenes. Stays very low key. Can be seen a lot at his restaurant La Strada in Birmingham. His wife also runs the hair and nail place next door.

Eugene Baratta- Owns Fairway packing company. Tied into Carmela Foods. Pretty much legit with a little bookmaking down in Florida.

Anthony Tocco Jr.- Owns Carmela Foods. Son of Jack Tocco’s Brother Anthony Sr. (Tawncy). From what I can tell he’s not really involved at all. Carmela food is a very successful business. I’m sure he’s used his name in the past to get to where he is now.

David Aceto- I believe he’s pretty much inactive after being pushed out of drugs and bookmaking by the D’Anna ‘s. He is Giacalone’s former driver and good friend. So, not sure how it sits with Jackie with the D’Anna’s taking over that area.

Rugerio Bros. - Own the Antonio’s food chain and Roman Village. They’re based in the Dearborn/ Detroit area and are under the Joey Giacalone wing.

So is it true that Anthony La Piana once worked for DiFronzos crew in Chicago and decided to move to Michigan once he married his wife who was from there? This then lead to him becoming who he is today up in Detroit?

Very nice find on the Jack V. photo. I know you have your own view on Nove Tocco but I think it is worth noting that he said he did not know Joseph Giacalone to be a made member, despite the apparent identification from the FBI. He also said the same for Anthony Dominic Giacalone.

Regarding Rizzo Environmental Services, do you still consider them connected even with Chuck Rizzo being a cooperator?

So to address some of the questions.

- Yes, Lapiana is from Chicago originally. He was mentored not only by Difronzo but also Jack Tocco. He was taught to be more of a white collar criminal than a street guy. I don’t really know if he was in Difronzo’s crew in Chi town. Jack wanted to separate himself from the Giacalone’s and the blue collar street mentality guys.

-As for the Zip crew. I don’t really wanna out anybody that hasn’t been convicted of anything yet. There’s a handful of these guys from Terrasini to Trapani that have come over. D’Anna’s are from Terrasini. I believe one of their relatives is a boss over there. One of the last names I can provide is Vaglica. You can see these guys hanging around Sapori and La Strada in Birmingham. Which makes me believe their allegiance is to Tony Lop and not Giacalone. I see a power struggle happening soon between Giacalone and the D’Anna’s.

-JoePuzzles. I have been looking for pics of some of these guys for awhile. Try to get a recent one of Lapiana or Stramaglia is next to impossible. Lol.

-As far as I know Rizzo is on the outs with LCN as an associate. I know he’s been budding up to Gasper Fiore who was indicted a year or two ago for bribes and such.

-I only say Joey Giacalone because Scott has mentioned he was. I really have no info on him to back it up that he’s Made or anything like that. I know he runs GCH Machinery in Warren.

So La Piana is a high class mobster. I totally understand why he left Chicago behind as there are not many guys in Chicago that are like him from what it sounds like.

Also thank you for sharing all the info, its much appreciated!

The photo of Giacalone really is cool to see - I've also looked for those other guys and found nothing. Same for David Aceto.

Is Fiore someone who could be considered a formal Detroit associate? His corruption bust seems to have been around 2018, unless you mean there was a more recent indictment involving Rizzo as well? Chuck himself got out in 2022 from federal prison, not sure if he has Michigan state time to do on top of that though.

Would he then be a captain with the Rugiero brothers in his crew?

I have pics of most of the guys from Detroit. Giacalone was definitely the hardest to get. I have one of Aceto I’ll post in a minute.

Gasper Fiore is an associate. Heard his new company, can’t remember the exact name, maybe Fiore Trucking or something like that has been doing some shady stuff.

I was always told Joey Giacalone was a Captain. But I have no proof to verify that. If you look online I believe you can find pics of him with the Rugerio Brothers at the Festa Italiana. I think he’s more like Vince. Just coasting on that name.

Another associate I forgot to mention is Freddy Giordano. He owned BT’s strip club with Alan Markovitz. Who basically owns every strip club in Michigan. He also put a murder contract on Alan. He was also owner of the Andiamo’s in Dearborn and the Post Bar in Dearborn. I guess he owns the Rusted Crow in Detroit now.
