Yes, that is the Paul DiCaro that was involved with Gallichio. I would also like to add that DiCaro’s was very close with Mickey Gurgone. They partnered up a lot on different heists. They had a good crew.

Yes, he was the brother of Mike Glitta. Marco did time too.

Mike Glitta has double pinky rings. Madon. That may be the new kangol hat - I see quite a bit of pinky rings on these Outfit guys, even the modern ones. Nearly every Chicago Heights/Gary guy I just posted has one.

Any background on Dominic 'Sharkey' Glitta the father?

I’ve written briefly about Domenico “Sharkey” Gliatta (original spelling of the surname). He may well have been connected back in the day on Taylor St, though I have no specific info on this if he was. Given that several of his sons were involved with the mob, it’s a good chance that he was too IMO.

Patrick posted that pic of Daniel, Mike, and Carlo Glitta above. Daniel was the eldest brother, and the first to make the papers when he was busted in 1942 for operating a gambling business out of a Taylor St apartment.

While they were not Sicilian, the Glittas had some familial ties that were very interesting. As I noted before, they were related by marriage to Vince Solano. The in-law in common was Frank Ingo, the stepson of Solano’s maternal uncle, who married sister Rose Glitta. Frank Ingo was the son of Domenico Ingo, a native of Lucca Sicula who I’ve discussed before, as he was involved with the mafia in Little Sicily and was subsequently murdered in 1923 in Colorado alongside Charles Carlino in the war in the Pueblo Family at that time. Frank Ingo also witnessed the naturalization of Joe Terzo, Chuck Nicoletti’s stepfather and possibly himself a mafioso. As is almost always the case with these Chicago guys, there is much more to their story then is obviously at first glance.

That furniture store there was mobbed up also. Can’t remember the name now for the life of me but the big one next to the Jewel right there. For years, guys from the Taylor St crew were using that spot to run a juice operation and meeting there, as Frank Buccieri had a cut of the store. I always thought it was a little funny that Taylor St guys were operating out of a joint on the Near NW Side, but then Glitta — although a member of the Prio/Solano crew — was a Taylor St guy himself.
