Do you know Ronnie showed no legitimate income? I find this surprising as that's the cardinal rule of being a mobster.
"Giallanzo has earned millions of dollars through his illicit activities. All the while, Giallanzo and his wife Elizabeth have reported little to the Internal Revenue Service. Indeed, based on records provided by the Social Security Administration, between 2005 and 2016, Giallanzo and his wife together reported a total of approximately $305,000 in income (approximately $25,000 per year). Notwithstanding, they were able to purchase their home for $1 million without any mortgage, and they have made significant improvements to the property."

Chierchio might not be half the gangster Ronnie is but he’s clearly light years ahead of him in the intelligence department.

Given the case against Ronnie, that doesn’t seem like an incredibly high bar 😂

Yea Ronnie is going to spend basically 2007-2028 in jail with only a couple years free during that stretch.

It's funny how people were making fun of how Diego Tantillo and Vito Rappa etc were dressed in their arrest photos, but look at their homes. They should think about that the next time they open their mouth.

Lucchese member A. Villani is said to own a couple homes. They found over $400K in one of them. A great earner. You guys are right, it's mostly the YouTube rats and know-it-alls on these forums who claim there's no more money in the life.

I’ve said this a few times that for living in one of the most expensive metro areas in the world, a lot of them seem to be doing pretty well. Realistically they have adapted well in modern times from an economic perspective and the fact there are few indictments is indicative of sensible moves they are making and not that they don’t exist. Former members like pennisi have generally said that wealth/prosperity is not the issue, just that the whole brotherhood thing is a load of bullshit which I’m sure it is. So classification of the mob is dead is more about “culture” of the mob than it is their physical existence

I think it's also that for a lot of these guys, the way they grew up around the mob was way different than where it currently is. They grew up as kids with murder & violence in the neighborhood and certain actions having deadly consequences and that's how they think it should be. When that is no longer around it doesn't feel like the life anymore, even if they're making money and living in big houses.
