From say 1963-1983,

Which family controlled which sections of Brooklyn arguably?

Bensonhurst had the notable 19th Hole crew
Canarsie had the Vario crew which was huge

I wouldn’t say any family controlled certain areas in Brooklyn but the aforementioned are 2 examples of notable crews within Brooklyn that were certainly strong

I agree you can’t say any family totally controlled an area but certainly some families had a larger presence than others.

Like Al said Canarsie was the dominion of the Lucchese Curiale/Vario crew until the Gambinos under Nicky Corozzo built up a crew in that area.

Bensonhurst totally different story as all 5 families had crews there but I’d say the Gambinos and the Colombos had the largest presence.

Bushwick and Williamsburg are synonymous with the Bonanno family.

Red Hook, the Gambinos.

That’s really all I can think of off the top of my head.

So would they have been a bigger presence in bay ridge than the Gambino’s?
