Anthony Colombo on YouTube

Post by Wiseguy »

Thanks to BillyBrizzi for originally posting this.

In order to promote his new book about his father, Anthony Colombo has posted several short videos on YouTube talking about different things. People may remember that, though technically shelved, he, his brother, and others in their crew were busted back in 2004 for gambling, extortion in the construction industry, fraud, and other crimes.

Here's the first one.I think there's around 10 total.

I saw these videos when was he shelved? Was it shortly after his fathers demise? And what was the reasoning for him and his brothers being shelved?

They were shelved after the Colombo war for siding with Orena.

I don't think they would have been killed since so many guy's sided with Orena (the vast majority of the family in fact). I think after the war something like 20 guy's were shelved.

If you look at my Colombo war post (which doesn't cover every aspect of the war, but does cover most of the crews actively trying to murder each other), you can see a lot of it was associates going after other associates because they couldn't track down the leaders and made guys.

I am sure most of the actual made members were laying lower than usual, but I also don't think all of them were in hiding. Aside from Greg Scarpa, I don't think the Persico crews were going after any and all Orena supporters.
