Gahens Lee Souverain is a suspect in the attempted murder of Davide Barberio more than 3 years ago. Barberio’s next court appearance in Ontario, where he’s been detained since July of last year, is December 12.

I don't know. As a nonjournalist, I'm able to find out only by virtually observing his court appearances (which I believe have all been via video from a detention centre) and by waiting to hear the charges incidentally mentioned -- in any context whatsover -- by either the counsellors (Crown and defense), court clerks, et al. The problem is, the charges are rarely mentioned on these Zoom proceedings because a lot of time is spent discussing coordination of discovery, hearings, trials, etc., and because the judge is keeping an eye on the Jordan deadlines.

One journalist does know what Barberio is charged with and is waiting for there to be something substantial to write about. On December 12, if I find out what the charges are, I'll make sure to post here. I'll also post any link to the article published by the reporter.

I forgot to mention that for Barberio's next court appearance, the 2-day proceedings will be conducted in French. My fluency in the French language leaves a lot to be desired -- my reading comprehension is okay -- but trying to decipher spoken Québecois French is something else altogether.

lol, no one can except the Quebecers themselves ;) . That said, I remember seeing excerpts from the Charbonneau commission where the speakers spoke "normally", this may also be the case in the courts. At worst, if it is decipherable for my ears, I can help translate

Hells Angels Andre Sauvageau, who was believed to have died of natural causes, was allegedly poisoned with fentanyl
https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2024/ ... -en-prison

Very interesting development involving Silva and Woolley. Silva reveals Woolley ordered Andre Sauvageau murdered as a gift to Maurice Boucher. Raises the questions whether the HA knew prior to this revalation and if the Rizzuto-Sollecito group knew before it happened, did Woolley act on his own?

So, if we believe what Silva says, Montreal is no longer dependent on the Bonanno Crime Family and is able to induct (or inudcted) members by itself.

Even if I am not closed-minded, I admit that I remain quite skeptical on this subject. It is also quite unfortunate IMO that Seguin & Thibault did not ask Andrea Scoppa about it (but maybe they did and it is simply not include in La Source ?)

Journalist Daniel Renaud had a $100,000 contract put on his head by the hitman in 2021.

Lots of interesting stuff in the above two articles:

- A group called the 'Federation' was formed in late 2020
- Allied with the Rizzutos, the Federation's goal was to murder members of the Hells Angels and push them out of Montreal
- Silva gave the group its name, and said it consisted of four 'generals' who supervised their own hit teams
- Three of the four generals were Silva, Gregory Woolley, and Samy Tamouro
- The generals would share resources, intelligence, and jointly finance bonuses for the successful completion of contracts
- Each contract was worth over $100,000
- The generals also communicated to make sure they weren't all going after the same targets
- The Rizzutos relied on the Federation for its eyes and ears, and Silva considered himself a 'wall' protecting the Rizzutos
- The Federation had a list of people to kill, which included 'individuals linked to the Calabrian mafia'
- Before forming the Federation, Silva had allied with Woolley, Tamouro, and others to kill former members of the Rockers as well as former members of the Rock Machine who had joined the Hells Angels
- Rock Machine member-turned-Hells Angel André Sauvageau was poisoned with fentanyl
- Woolley asked Silva to pass a message in prison to Maurice Boucher to let him know they killed Savageau as a favour to him (Boucher)
- Silva organised the $250,000 contract on Ducarme Joseph and 'became a member of the Rizzuto family the next day'
- Silva referred to Leonardo Rizzuto as 'the flag, the prince, and the bank' of the Rizzutos
- When he flipped in 2022, Silva told investigators that the Rizzutos no longer made 'men of honour' and the war between the Calabrians and Sicilians still wasn't over
'You don't go crucifying people outside a church; not on Good Friday.'

I might have missed it or have a bad translation but where did it say in the article that they are no longer dependent on the Bonanno family?

I saw the part where they inducted Silva after the Ducarme Joseph murder but who is to say that wasn’t done with permission from NY?
