I remember reading and hearing about it. the civil suit Maybe the feds settled. also in luisi testimony he got 188months. Quick math that's like 15yrs. that's a haul. dammm. you cooperate tell on all your friends in 2 city's and they give you that. he must have been a real piece of shit. he did all this time before he even probaly testified against ponzo. maybe they freed him rite after this trial. on rosetti that state police had him on wiretap talking to his fbi handler.they basically exposed the whole thing. why the fbi would get in bed with a mobster after the burger thing. this was in like 2010. he did a state bid on all types of drug and robbery shit. the feds left him out to dry. someone said he's down Florida. he was always a herion addict/pills
Thanks for your thoughts Pmac and is David Turner connected to the mob in Boston? I think that he was mentioned in Luisi’s testimony and was mentioned in the Netflix documentary this is a Robbery about the Gardner art heist.
I don't know how to upload it but look at the January 20,1996 Boston Globe for a huge article on Turner and all of his misdeeds. He is a prime suspect in the Charles Pappas hit. He was part of Carmello Merlino's robbery crew and was associated with Stephen Rossetti.
What a mess. Such a young kid getting killed. All such pointless shootings and murder. For what? Nobody really gains much or loses much it seemed. It was just a "rival faction..." it's also amazing how so much violence can occur while one is an informant/jurisdiction of the government.
Even when I was in war we had the Geneva conventions. It seems there was literally no rules for these guys.
"- In these letters, Luisi also made several demands including bail, money, the return of seized property, a 60-month sentence, and financial information about other informants including Larry O’Toole and Richard Gillis"

^ is that true about those two? Very hard to believe.
Great thread as per usual Chin, thanks for breaking this down. I remember in Anastasia's book he portrayed Luisi as a cuck for not avenging the murder of his father and brother but it turns out that his own friends did it! Crazy stuff. Did he really say that he was "eating" cocaine??
I think Luisi, Sr. bullied the fuck out of the Clemente kid and the Clemente father was legitimately worried for his son's life and panicked inside the 99 that day.

wasn't Gillis one of Salemme's main enforcers along with Devlin, the Rossettis Mark and Stephen?
Correct, which is why that took me by surprise . Mark was a rat but never heard anything about Gillis. Must be a typo, error or some shit. He's well respected.

He talks about it more in his book. He says he had an allergic reaction when he snorted coke, so to get around it he'd chew and swallow a pea-sized amount of cocaine and then chase it with alcohol to get rid of the bitter taste.
'You don't go crucifying people outside a church; not on Good Friday.'
lol an allergic reaction only when sniffing it but not when ingesting the exact same substance? Never heard of that before. Luisi is def an odd duck.I liked the few episodes of his show when he had Eddie portalla on. Rico Ponzo has a pretty wild story. He was on the lam as long as Bulger and def didn't have as much money but he hustled his way into having a cattle ranch. Kind of cool. Between him and Whitey I don't know of any other guys who lasted on the lam as long, especially during the 90s-2010s when technology was getting much more advanced. Chin thanks again as always!

Thanks for an interesting comment so was Luisi blocked from being made into the LCN by Frank Salemme or his brother Jackie? Despite Bobby Luisi and his father being members of the Salemme faction which was briefly fighting the Carrozza faction.
was Vinnie the Pig devincent a member of the renegade faction?
