Ng tks the Sicilian stuff is a bit complicated for me I'll leave it to the moboligist I'm actually learning a few things myself I'd see some of these people in the mid to early 80s some mentioned even were in Venezuela back then I really didn't pay to much attention to the mob side of things back then I do remember all the Galina kids were named Phil well there you go

haha yes, like their grandfather, Filippo. Typical sicilian thing to give your first son the name of your fatherRidgewood 79 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 7:26 am Ng tks the Sicilian stuff is a bit complicated for me I'll leave it to the moboligist I'm actually learning a few things myself I'd see some of these people in the mid to early 80s some mentioned even were in Venezuela back then I really didn't pay to much attention to the mob side of things back then I do remember all the Galina kids were named Phil well there you go

Yes it's definitely a Sicilian tradition to name your first kid after your dad or mom

Re: 52 wiseguy s in a year!
In my case growing up unless it was part castellemare/alcamo clans I really didn't pay attention so much on anything cosa nostra in anywhere but those places and of course our American sides at times in my mid teens( mid eighties) I thought everyone my family in that life were castellamaresi or at least related to people like catalano, tony aiello, even Vito Grimaldi, then there was people that were actually castellamaresi that seemed like they were palermantans like farinas, mimmo taratamella, colegero dimaria, shit was a bit confusing till I got a bit older maybe about the time I began visiting back home in the eighties was when I started to comprehend the difference in clans in Sicily and how they were perceived in NYC I mean 1979 to 1984 seemed a whole lot different for Sicilian groups in the United States as for 1985 and beyond Gotti mania changed a world of things for Sicilians in America there was new rules granted 80 percent of these Sicilians were either in prison, dead , or fled to Italy or just plain out fell under the cracks new york became an american thing

Re: 52 wiseguy s in a year!
I sometimes hear about how the mob is going back to its roots especially like ten to 15 years ago after the Massino debacle especially the castellamaresi so called connections and how some of you were making it so much bigger than it actually was and over what a news reporter writing about nino mistretta talking to a certain individual??? Or Joe Bosco becoming the next Joe bonanno?? Or my two cousins Phil and Anthony becoming part of this new resurfacing?? Ridiculous! Plain out ridiculous for beginners nino been visiting family back home forever ( he's no dope but he ain't built like that trust me) either is anyone I mentioned so far is jack bonventre built like that?? Yeah he is however looking what he told them when offered a boss position?? Yep he told them fk off is the mob dead ?? No is any Sicilian connection dead well at least in the bonanno family 100 percent leave that crap for Scott Bernstein

Got smoke blown up his ass by whoever and the Jerry capeci types of the world and the next thing you know he's lying in a snow ditch somewhere outside of Montreal on Thanksgiving Day there was strings attached to that dude don't get that fkd up and I'm pretty sure they were American all that smoke show about we going back old school after Massino flipped was just that I don't even think there's a Sicilian born shooter left in the bonanno family ( well made anyways)

you have a lot more to offer than the usual suspects who write books. there are many aspects to your story that are non mob related and thus will reach more ppl as it will appeal to different kinds of readers in addition to true crime ppl.
Btw, Tony silo allowed the coast guard to use his mega yacht to save all the hurricane victims.
“Some of the most important factors in any search and rescue case is accurate information and safety equipment. We are just grateful that Mr.Silo was caring enough to give coast guard access to his custom made 443 foot mega yacht, once owned by a Saudi Prince" said Lt. Cmdr. Joe Gambino, a search and rescue mission coordinator at Coast Guard District Seven. "We received an updated satellite position from the boaters’ friend, Tony Silo who heroically spearheaded the search from the boat's (named "The Parkside") tender vessel seemingly only clad in floral patterned speedo style bathing trunks which led to them being successfully located. This rescue was a collaborative effort between District Seven, Oil magnate Mr. Silo and Sector St. Petersburg while the Tropical Storm crossed the region.”
