They didn't introduce him to "all these heavyweights", the only person he met who he didn't know beforehand was Andrew DiSimone, and he wasn't introduced to him with his new position at the time (Acting Consigliere) precisely because they didn't trust Pennisi and wanted to keep him in the dark with regards to hierarchical positions; Anthony Guzzo also introduced him to Joey Lubrano as a Captain but he and Pennisi already knew each other from prison and just hadn't been introduced as Members. Had Guzzo not been present, Pennisi may have very well not been introduced to anyone at the wake.

Weird thing about Lurano and Pennisi is that when he did that very first Q&A with Ed Scarpo and this is prior to all podcasts and any youtube videos I asked about the captains and crews in the family and he never mentioned Joey Lubrano. He clearly knew about him but why leave him out?

Q: Which crew was Patty Dellorusso made captain of the day Mike DeSantis was made acting boss? Also could he name the captains of each crew? And does he still believe the Lucchese family is made up of only 7 crews? I'm not clear on the whole Brooklyn/Staten Island thing is it one crew or two. Scootch

JP: Patty was made Captain to the original Brooklyn crew. The Staten Island Brooklyn crew was newer guys and not necessarily all from Brooklyn and the old Brooklyn crew were all from that area.

Yes, there were two different crews.

The captains back then were:

Carmine Avellino- Long Island
Richie Deluca- New Jersey
Dom Truscello- Manhattan
Big John- Staten Island (Brooklyn)

Anthony “Blue” Santorelli- Bronx

He wasn't, it's just that he needed Pennisi to set up a meeting with Gambinos over a pizzeria.

Agree with this though when he’s mentioned lubrano he’s always called him a captain. Perhaps lubrano was acting for crea jr? Or maybe there is an additional crew that he didn’t mention though I’m pretty sure he testified and didn’t mention lubrano crew though I may be wrong on that.

Weren't the Crea's locked up by 2017 for the Meldish hit? I wonder if Crea Jr was no longer on the street at the time of this wake which Pennisi says was the last wake he was at before he left the life in 2018.

Correct.

Both were close to the Crea's. Salerno came up around the purple gang. He has a reputation of being capable. Lubrano was of course affiliated with the Tanglewood boys and Crea Sr took him under his wing. Lubrano was a bartender at Crea's social club when he was younger.

That zocolillo said crea jr and lubrano had a gambling thing going at some time. It wasn’t always clear to me if lubrano was actually around the tanglewood boys or not and also that he’s a Bronx guy unlike them but either way he must’ve been somewhere in their vicinity. I read once that the time he did in the 90s was him being confused for Freddy santorelli but not sure if that is accurate.

Crea and Crea Jr were given bail. According to David Evangalista, jailhouse informant who testified at Crea’s trial, he claimed that Londonio said to him those 2 guys ordered the murder but they receive bail and I don’t.

The wake which Pennisi attended took place on the second of February, 2018. I think cooperated around October of 2018, if I remember correctly

That really must be a disheartening blow for the members of today.Especially because Pennisi indicates that he has “sources” if it’s not the FBI then it must be members of today…That’s what must really bother them, the fact that current day members could be sending Pennisi information

Though this could be a violation of Pennisi’s violation so I am not exactly sure if it is members or not…
