Dominick Cicale said he had access to these recordings and was teasing them for a while. He made an appearance on the documentary, so maybe it came from him.

Each episode is available for purchase on YouTube for a couple dollars. I only bought the 3rd episode which focused on Massino and the Bonannos because I figured there would be some gems in there. They also have a new few seconds of surveillance video of Massino. Looks like he's coming from his house.

Yeah I also thought it was too good to be true at first. Basciano sounds like John Gotti Jr to me the more I listen.

Documentaries tend to explicitly say if voices are from actors etc. and the audio quality is super poor in some places too. For what it's worth outside of Cicale, Frank Fiordilino also didn't seem to think it was a recreation from my brief discussion with him on The Sitdown channel.
