I personally think John Matassa's latest scam was quite sad and shows he was quite desperate for cash, but you guys know better. I don't think he was nearly on the level of Daniel Pagano.

I tend to agree on the desperate nature of his last arrest/scam. It did reek of someone not doing great financially. However, you never know. Meaning a lot of these guys are just career criminals and are going to take advantage whenever and wherever they can. I've known multimillionaires to be some of the cheapest SOB's around. Hard to tell.
These guys get off on scamming people for money, no matter how small. Desperate? Maybe but look at Fatass Pritzker. A billionaire that risked a federal investigation by taking toilets out of his house just to save $30,000 when you have billions. The information I got about Pudgy is reliable and I was surprised myself. But also remember something about Pudgy. He is a made guy and for him not to use that to his advantage would be stupid in my opinion.
Remember how everyone laughed on ANP and elsewhere when it came out that Sarno was in a position of authority in the Outfit? Turns out he was feared and respected. He did time for the Outfit (even before the 2010 conviction) and had a reputation for violence. Now, Matassa seemingly wasn't a violent guy and only did a year in lockup, but I think the point still stands that made guys are treated differently and carry a lot of weight as long as the organization lets them.
Also, we know now from a recorded conversation with Sam Volpendesto in the early 2000's, that Sarno was actually being considered for boss at THAT time. Volpendesto was insinuating that Sarno got screwed by having Marcello be selected as boss.

You dont get to be the top of the heap in that cicero crew without being dangerous. Just think of the folks that we know were or are still involved in that Cicero faction to this day.

Yep; you also have to wonder how much influence DiFronzo still had at that point. You'd think he would have helped decide the boss matter if there was any type of dispute between the Marcello and Cicero camps over who should get it. I'd imagine Marcello got it via seniority and that he was the right-hand man of a previous boss (Carlisi).

If Matassa remains an important man, him, Vena and Andriacchi make three guys who are at least rumored to have northside/rush st ties.

Seeing that Andriacchi didn't get along with Marco D'Amico, I wonder if its possible that Andriacchi put/keeps Matassa (and maybe even Vena) in their potentially high-ranking positions today. Even if he's no longer active this very day, you have to wonder how long he actually kept a foot in the organization for.

I've read quite a bit on Matassa in the labor rackets. It really seems he was a figure in the 80s and 90s who was making some serious money with National Consolidated Industries which was controlled by his partner Salvatore “Sal Mango” Termini, who I rarely see on these boards. He was also an international agent for LIUNA at one point (meaning he had votes on pension matters). His union had Michael Blasi and Joseph Neroni, whose fathers were major gangsters. He was quit sophisticated in how we moved around and was at one point a field rep for four different locals. Maybe pathetic isn't the right word - it was more just like a WTF for me doing the same old scam 30 years later in a dumber way - and he's doing it directly himself (not through front people). He was the sole pensioner in this new union he set up. It just seemed desperate.

These guys really must not invest their money very well - I have to assume he had a lot more.

From what I heard Matassa is mostly or completely retired and in poor health. Andriacchi is 91 years old so probably has little involvement. If anyone would be the consigliere it would be him, but I imagine at his age he would be a figurehead. According to my sources Delaurentis is still the boss and Cataudella his underboss.

The way I had it explained to me. Angelo was not at all a politician or a glad hander. Angelo was a brute, he could be very charming when he wanted to be, but he didn’t have the “look”. The Caruso family always handled the political side of things with the old first ward. I was told that Angelo couldn’t read at a level higher than 3rd grade (real rudimentary stuff). Angelo was always muscle. Nothing more and nothing less. When Caruso Sr died the political operation was handled by Solano who was very clean cut and really really sauve, he had “the look”. Caruso Jr was still too “young” and not ready to handle the political arm of the Outfit. However, Caruso Jr his brothers and cousins were given management jobs of LIUNA. Caruso Jr and his family continue to play a the political part of the Outfit to this day. However, with his son’s role in the Lenny Clarke beating I wonder who is going to take up the role as political fixer for the organization. I have some theories but who knows.

Anyone know anything more about this DeMarco?
He’s one of the younger guys that you see hanging around Gigi’s spot in Burr Ridge. Since, there’s public knowledge about this guy I’ll throw my experience with him and some of the younger guys, that I will not name as they’ve not been named in public.

Demarco is a smart guy, very very flashy and plays the “guido” type to a T. Demarco I believe belongs to Bobby Dominic and handles not only the sweepstakes machines that are fucking all over West Town and making their way north and east. They also hang out at the new Casino offering “lines of credit”. Demarco and the new guys made a lot of money off real estate and trucking. If you haven’t been following what happened in real estate and trucking in the last 2-3 years there’s been crazy money made. Demarco was a silent partner in a 300 truck trucking company that he finally got bought out for a couple of million dollars. Demarco also speaks Italian, as do surprisingly a lot of these younger guys. Supposedly (I don’t know if I buy it) but Demarco and Bobby Dominic bought up all of the boarded up buildings on Grand Ave from Cafe Cappuccino (space for lease!) up to the interstate overpass. They seem to think the Bennett school is going to buy up that land and they want their taste. They also own the billboard company on grand that is redoing their old HQ in hopes of leasing it out or selling (it’s near the Tesla dealership.

Yep. I was thinking the same thing. His name hardly comes up in any conversation. What a lot of people forget is these guys don’t retire. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was made.
I would say at this point the educated guess would say you're right. I would not be surprised either.
There is a thread going on this guy Dominic on another forum:

Apparently, his sister who is listed as a co-owner of this disputed property is married to the grandson of Abe Silverstein who was the founder of Harlem Globetrotters and they own quite a bit of real estate throughout the city as they are quite wealthy.

Richards Bar is apparently an homage to Richard Dominic (late brother of Bobby) who was an associate of Mike Posner. The bar was originally called Tishner's Tavern and owned by Vern Tishner, a well-known female bookmaker. Its owned by Susan Dominic and the wife of Mike Posner (Florence) on paper.

Bobby Dominic was running a pawnshop at Kimball and Fullerton in the Logan Square neighborhood up until a few years ago - that building owner is also Florence Posner. Posner's son also worked there, but Bobby Dominic seemed to be in charge.

Bobby Dominic stopped going to Richards after a kid was murdered outside (unrelated to Outfit).

The Dominics are a wealthy family with a lot of business interests. Richards hasn't been a 'mob place' since the 1990s.
I have seen him at Richard’s since that killing. He is usually out of there by 8pm. It’s been a little bit since I been there so maybe he has stopped. I knew him and Posner were close. Dominic came up under him. Richards was a mob hangout up until 10 or so years ago. Vena and Dominic were always there. Vena is never there supposedly now. Did not know about the pawnshop. What forum did you get this info on?

Also, I have heard Terry Scalise, no relation to Jerry, is a big player now in th Chinatown crew. Was one of Michael Talerico’s guys and is now running a big operation. Terry is from Bridgeport.
Its in the PMs in GangsterBB - there are a bunch of people who kind of talk off the boards. Can you tell me if the Abe Silverstein connection to Dominic's sister is real? I went down a rabbithole last night learning the Globetrotters were originally out of Chicago - before they moved to NYC. The entire thing was run by Jews - in fact, Jews were behind a lot of those early black sports. I have a suspicion that a significant amount of 'entertainment' type businesses launched in Chicago in the 30s and 40s would probably have Outfit backing or money invested in some way or another - or that you would have to pay the right people to get into stadiums, etc. Kind of an interesting connection.
There really isn't much conversation in there, when I checked it was just ChiTown calling us "Blackhand dorks" because we focus too much on who is/was boss -- which a lot of people are interested despite what he says.
Of course, assuming there isn't another thread that I'm not a part of. I really don't make it a habit of going to BB.
Bobby Dominic is at Richard’s everyday at about 1100. They put the cones in front so he can park his Lincoln in the same spot. When it’s nice outside him and Armando usually outside bullshitting getting ready for Lascrola to open up.

Terry went away with the Calabrese crew in the '90s. I'd see him around the club once in awhile after he got out.
Yes he did go away on that. From my understanding he took over the bookmaking action down there since Michael retired. You saw him in the italian club in Bridgeport?
I hadn't heard his name in awhile, but I generally only get to the club a few times a year now. He worked out in the gym at ONIAC. Doesn't surprise me that he's come up.
Terry Scalise is definitely not running Bridgeport, as Caruso Jr runs everything through his brothers/cousins, his son and Nicky Ferriola.

Did anyone claim he was running Bridgeport?
