Re: Researching the Mafia
Just like politics as I get older I don't know what to believe. I've seen official documents saying two different things . Iean I told a few stories on here and I got blasted and have to go to all different places and pay money to get my own records. I saved thousands of articles from the 90s that were ruined on. Hurri ame sandy mostly local papers but how do u know what to believe. My life sounds like pulp fiction so I can't blame people for needing proof do I need a lawyer for discoveryrecords
Re: Researching the Mafia

Re: Researching the Mafia
I second this question. Recently had this come up as well and am at a standstill. The usual lady I talk to at NARA to get court records says she can't locate FBI files without the locating information (Accession No./Records Center Location Num/Agency Box Number) which the FBI letter didn't provide.NickleCity wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 7:57 am Any one have experience or advice on how to get documents from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)? I did efoia request on Luppino and the response was that potential documents that may fulfill my request had been moved there.

This is the link to the old Palermo vital records site created by Hugh Tornabene. After Hugh passed away no one kept up the site and it expired, but I found a way to access the records through the Internet Archive:

Re: Researching the Mafia
What types of court records are publicly available online? Are actual court transcripts accessible?
I saw a post one time describing what a mob defendant said in their sentencing hearing (federal trial). It wasn’t something you’d find on google, and I doubt they attended in person. I’ve always wondered where someone would find that type of detailed info. Is that was PACER is for?
