Found him. Ronnie Jarrett was who I was thinking of.

Frank McErlane won the Dan Aykroyd Lookalike Contest decades before Jarrett.

Re: General Mob Questions
Does anyone has information on Carmine Franzese, father of John. I read on the interwebs that he was questioned in the 1934 Bocchia murder, allegedly commited by Ernest Rupolo. Who was later allegdly killed by John Franzese. Was Carmine Franzese a maffiosi (or cammorista?) What information do we have about him? And is there any evidence of their excisting a connection between the 1934 murder of Bocchia and links to Carmine Franzese?
I've always read that Franzese did the Rupolo murder as a favor to Genovese, but a possible connection to his dad might shine a different light on that.

Well there’s no way to accurately gauge that but I’ll bet it’s a lot more frequent than most people would assume. The list goes around with your name on it and anyone in the entirety of Cosa Nostra can block you with a good reason, they’ll have some sitdowns and maybe if you’re lucky things get worked out and you get made in the next round of ceremonies or not. There are guys who’ve gotten knocked down for whatever reason and end up getting made 10-15 years later with a different family.Shellackhead wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 8:41 pm I wonder how frequently mobsters get turned down for membership..

I can think of a few:
Gravano started in the Colombo’s
-Jackie di noscio I believe was an associate of the Philly family but then got made into the lucchese ???
- our buddy tuccio was associated with all families
-Robert di b I guess started in the decavalcantes and went to gambinis later
Anymore?

Re: General Mob Questions
There are a lot of guys who were associates of one family but switched to another and got made, these are a few I can think of off the top of my head.
Vic Amuso (Colombo-Lucchese), Simone Esposito (DeCavalcante-Bonanno), John Cerrella (Genovese-Lucchese), Frank DiPietro (Lucchese-Genovese), Al Embarrato (Genovese-Bonanno), Angelo Lapi (Bonanno-Genovese)
You can do a search and find the thread where we spoke of guys who were made by one family and got transferred to another.

Re: General Mob Questions
When did Carmine Persico officially become the boss of the Colombo Family? An FBI document i have just read is from November 5th, 1980, Greg Scarpa informs them that Persico has been elevated to official boss though I have seen other dates elsewhere.
