I wonder if he was a recent immigrant and is why there nothing on him. I did see that there is a Dr Vitali in Rockford.cavita wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 6:10 pmYou know, I have no idea who this guy was and I've never seen the spelling as Vitali in Rockford, though there are many Vitale families still there. I couldn't even find an obituary for him to see who his parents were.PolackTony wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 4:17 pmLooks like that link is broken.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:40 pm On the subject of Rockford, there was a murder about 10 years ago that occurred in the old Italian area of Rockford by St Anthony’s church. A Nicolas Vitali was stabbed to death across the street from the old Italian church St Anthony’s. I doubt it is mob related but the victim was 29 years old and Italian. Anyone have any info on him?

In a later article, Rockford PD still hadn’t made an arrest as of March 2014.
There was a Salvatore Vitale from Cìnisi in Belvedere back in the day connected to Pietro Alfano and Phil Priola, but there were also Vitales in Rockford from San Giuseppe Jato and Avellino province. No idea which Vitale/Vitali family this guy was related to. Maybe Cavita will know something about him or his family.

Article on Scott's site today about Steve Roden, says he's still hanging with Outfit guys in spite of his claim to have gone straight. That's not unusual though is it?

The guy is a snitch and considered a joke. Im not sure who he snitched on or when but I have good sources that told me this. I know he has hung out with Gigi but other than that nobody wants nothing to do with the guy.
The guy was never a criminal genius anyway. Admitted drug addict who was in and out of prison for a good portion of his life. He never did any crimes with the outfit from what I know.
Roden also testified against a Berwyn cop I believe which could have given him the snitch label. He also claims Chicago police covered up the murder of his wife’s cousin.

Scott Burnstein just broke the news that Outfit narcotics guy Sam Sarcinelli passed away. Surprised Scott didn’t mention anything about him being an investor in Pole Katz. He was also hardly on any Outfit lists through the years.

You'll no doubt thrill to learn that Abbasi now follows me on Twitter; I made some jokes about his appearance that he seemed to appreciate.PolackTony wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 12:14 pm In Chicago, worlds collide lol. Perry Abbasi is a classic Chicago character, just updated for the internet age.
Yeah Scott says that Nadu actually broke the story, to give credit where credit is due. Was he made? I'd only heard him mentioned like once or twice before.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 7:14 pm Scott Burnstein just broke the news that Outfit narcotics guy Sam Sarcinelli passed away. Maybe it's already been noted, but "CG 5951," the ci who furnished the Intel about the Outfit hierarchy in 1954, was a prostitute who got the Intel from her boyfriend, Americo Dipietto.B. wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 11:15 pm Random reports I found interesting:
- Joseph Iatarola described as a "sleeper" in the Chicago Family.
- Source believed Giancana's killer(s) would have received orders from "one of the committe".
- Suspects Blasi or English of being involved.
- I've seen the other accounts of Bonanno trying to influence Bompensiero, Fratianno, and Biagio Bonventre to take out the LA leadership but I don't think I've seen this one where Bonanno is said to have recruited John Roselli and Joe Giammona.
- Interesting in this account Roselli initially agreed to the plot but then told Frank Desimone and traveled to New York to discuss it. Makes sense that he would meet with Gambino but more likely to me is his main audience was Tommy Lucchese who was Gambino's ally.
- Roselli by this time was a Chicago member.
- Any idea who this LA informant is? It's not Piscopo.
- Two Chicago member informants in 1976. Does anyone know if those codes match any of the known / suspected informants?
- One of the member informants attended Dom DiBella's 1976 funeral.
- Same member informant. Was close to Sam Giancana.
- Tried to attend Giancana's funeral but Chicago undertaker William Marzullo told him not to attend. William Marzullo was the son of Chicago member and politician Vito Marzullo.
- A relative of the informant's who was close to Joey Aiuppa also told the informant he would get "called in" if he went to Giancana's funeral.
- A lot of bold claims here, but it's at least true that Accardo fell out of favor as boss as he said so himself on a recording.
- The cited article says Sam Battaglia, Sam Giancana, and "Jack Capone" were "representatives of Paul Ricca" who were unhappy with Accardo.
- "Jack Capone" must be Cerone, but strange to think of Cerone and Giancana being part of an anti-Accardo faction as this says.
- Is there any evidence of Accardo having a warning shot fired at him? This was published a few years before the shot fired at Frank Costello so it isn't borrowing from that.
- The CI placed Accardo, Capezio, and Giancana as the pecking order in Chicago circa 1954.
Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
In 1954 the Chicago Tribune and other Chicago papers reported that according to their sources Paul Ricca saw Accardo as a "bungler" because of increased FBN attention on Outfit associates (and possibly members) involved in the drug trade. Allegedly a shot was fired and whizzed by as Accardo was either going in or out of his car and then he was reported as deposed with Ricca in charge. Accardo allegedly attempted to fly to Chile where he was to meet with Lucky Luciano. Johnny Torrio and Tony Gobels then met with Ricca and Accardo in a North Side hotel to reconcile them by telling Accardo that he needed to submit to Ricca's authority.Ed wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 10:19 amMaybe it's already been noted, but "CG 5951," the ci who furnished the Intel about the Outfit hierarchy in 1954, was a prostitute who got the Intel from her boyfriend, Americo Dipietto.B. wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 11:15 pm

But considering that the source was the prostitute girlfriend of an associate long involved in drug trafficking most or all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. No evidence or witnesses ever came out to verify that any shots were fired near Accardo. Even if there was, it was in Chicago where there's always someone shooting at someone else.

I can't remember if I asked anyone here in private messages and I did a search on the boards and nothing came up, but does anyone have any info on Bernard Wolfred Jacobs- who he was and his relation to the Outfit?

Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
I noticed that that Stevie Bullets guy keeps posting that article that Scott Bernstein wrote about him being a possible Outfit associate. Wonder how much Seifer and this guy payed Bernstein to write that maybe to hype up that documentary that never really took off like they hoped. You think if he was really an Outfit associate that you would be posting an article about that on Facebook? What a joke.
It also wouldn’t surprise me if this Stevie Bullets guy is one of Scott B’s “Cicero sources”? If so Scott’s credibility took a hit.

Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
Maybe I'm naive, but i find it hard to believe that SB would help him hype up a doc that was only going to get seen by a tiny amount of people any way.

Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
If he’s the one giving Scott information on Cicero than he might. Just so happen that the one guy that got busted in Rockford that Scott wrote about, is friends with Roden’s brother. Steve Roden is obviously not an Outfit associate. He’s working with a guy Siefer who testified at Family Secrets and Roden himself testified against Berwyn cop that had Outfit connections.
Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
Yeah possibly, no way to confirm Roden is one of his Cicero sources but it's possible. Hard to judge Scott even if he's one of them, could be one of a handful. But I would agree he's mostly a goof, his primary connection seems to be that his grandfather or something worked as a doorman at one of Jimmy Marcello's clubs.
