St. Louis Mob Murders List?
I've been doing a little bit of research on the St. Louis mob. Primarily because I'm fascinated by the overlap/collaboration with the Detroit mob. But I wasn't sure if anyone ever put together a list of suspected St. Louis mob murders. I find it's really hard to research because everything seems to focus on the Leisure War of the late 70s-early 80s. That kind of drowns everything out. But I've come across a couple links to Detroit in terms of murders. In 1956 a lawyer named Robert L Brown was killed in what they called a gangland slaying in St. Louis, and Detroit police were looking for a "local hoodlum" in connection with that because they think Brown was the source of a Detroit cigarette smuggling ring. But I've never been able to find out if that's true and who the Detroiter was. And William Buffalino(Detroit Teamster lawyer and apparently eventually made member according to the FBI) was questioned about a St. Louis murder that took place in the 1950s. Either 1954 or 1956 but again I've never been sure what that was all about. So I wondered if anyone ever put together a list for St. Louis. It'd be interesting.
