Thanks, I knew Mazza was involved in the robberies and sportsbook, but that's the first I've heard of his ambitions to become a "made guy" or "mob boss" because of it. I wonder if those aspirations ever came true? It wouldn't surprise me.

Villain is claiming in that thread that he was told this by “street sources”, and he is someone who when he used to post here never claimed to have “street sources”, so who knows. Leonard DeGrado is in his 70s and lives in Lemont. He was arrested a couple of years ago on a domestic battery charge but hasn’t otherwise had any reported criminal history. He’s only half Italian; his father, Michael DeGrado, was a Sicilian guy (the DeGrados were from Lucca Sicula) who grew up back in the day by 25th and Wentworth in Chinatown.

The only Frank DiPaolo that I’m aware of is a school janitor in Oak Park. Villain claims his “street sources” told him that this DiPaolo is originally from Rockford. Again, no idea where he’s getting this from and if there’s any truth to it.

Well considering that Buffalo had a made member that was a school teacher then I guess that means it’s possible that Chicago has a member that is a school janitor lol. Rockford LCN member Alfred Cicero was a longtime school janitor which might make sense in that he had a regular job to show income, was off on the weekends, holidays and summers and got a pension to boot!

To be clear, for my part, I was just saying that this was the only Frank DiPaolo that would seem to fit the bill, not that a guy who works as a school custodian couldn’t be a member. He very well could be, but obviously the chuckleheads at GBB are going to take any name ending in a vowel and go nuts with it. Having said that, there will be guys involved today whose names are not known to the public. Some of them will be career criminal types, while others will be guys who have legit jobs and businesses.
