Fun fact. The black population of Canada is 3.5%.
They do well for themselves in representation for the Toronto Raptors.

Montreal police are currently carrying out a large operation to arrest “influential criminals” connected to the Hells Angels. I wonder if Martin Robert and Stephane Plouffe will be taken off the streets.

It's just another search to gather evidence with the goal to arrest influential members at a later date. No arrests are planned today.

I don't know. I also don't know where Barberio physically was back on July 28 and where he is at this very moment.

When I see Barberio's name on a docket again, I will try to listen in and watch as his matter is heard virtually. Post-pandemic, very few counsellors (lawyers), paralegals, and agents -- along with the defendants they are representing -- are attending certain Ontario Court of Justice courtrooms in person. In a Zoom Room, counsellors receive first priority, followed by paralegals and agents, even if, for example, a paralegal is filling in for a counsellor. Sometimes defendants appear on video or via audio from the detention centre where they are being held, e.g., Toronto South.
Davide Barberio’s matter is being heard again at 10:30 am tomorrow, and I’ll try to virtually observe. I have a suspicion he’s being held in a detention centre but I’ll be able to confirm once he appears on camera.

Two of the suspected MS-13 members believed to be involved in the accidental shooting of a dogwalker in Ontario earlier this year have a 9:30 am matter being heard tomorrow in the same courthouse but in a different virtual courtroom. One suspect, Carlos Pena Torrez, is also alleged to have mistakenly shot an old man in Laval earlier this year instead of the supposed intended target: Francesco Del Balso.

I might have to use both my laptop and smartphone to keep track of both matters tomorrow, as 9:30 am and 10:30 am dockets might have 400 or more matters on any given weekday.

Unfortunately, when I joined the virtual courtroom at 10:30 am to wait for Barberio's matter to be heard, I did not yet know that he and his lawyer had already appeared on camera before 10:30 am. If observers don't raise their hand in Zoom to ask to be navigated to a particular virtual courtroom for a specific matter, they may very well be diverted by court staff to a breakout room where the matter is not being heard. Frustrating all around, but counsellors do get first priority when appearing on camera, and sometimes they appear before the scheduled time on the docket to discuss their defendant's matter(s).

I did manage to observe the 9:30 am matter for Eddie Garcia Corrales, one of Carlos Pena Torrez's co-defendants. I'll post in the other thread where I've been providing updates about the matters arising from the shooting in Schomberg, Ontario.

There's coordination between the Palais de justice de Montréal and the Superior Court of Justice (Toronto, Ontario) in the matters involving Joel Richard Clarke.

antimafia wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 7:39 pm There now may be four (4) suspects from Ontario involved in the murder of Claudia Iacono in Montreal. Stay tuned.
After virtually observing the Superior Court of Justice criminal matter heard this morning in Toronto for Joel Richard CLARKE and Jamal LEWIS, let me clarify what I think is happening with those charged in relation to the murder of Claudia Iacono.

Clarke and Lewis have the same case number. (If I type Lewis and Clarke, I start laughing for 5 mins., despite the Clarke surname being spelled differently from the American explorer's.) The charges these two are facing have not been spelled out in court during the matters I've virtually observed. While I previously wrote that there has been coordination between the courts in Toronto and Montreal regarding Clarke's matters in both provinces, I haven't been as confident since observing the previous hearing of Clarke and Lewis's matter in a virtual courtroom in Toronto back on August 22.

Clarke was the first suspect named in relation to Claudia Iacono's murder. I am able to say that he's in a prison in Quebec and that he will eventually be transferred to Ontario. I am also able to say that he and Lewis have different lawyers but that the lawyers are coordinating their defence.

Tyranne Andre GREENIDGE is the second suspect named in relation to Claudia Iacono's murder. He has an Ontario Court of Justice criminal matter (TBST, or To Be Spoken To) being heard tomorrow (Wed., Sept. 5) at 10:00 am. His case number is different from the one for Clarke and Lewis's matter. I don't know where Greendige is being detained and whether, if he's being held in Ontario, he will be transferred to Quebec. (Similarly, I don't know whether Clarke will be eventually transferred back to Quebec.)

There is a third individual who has a Superior Court of Justice criminal matter that has the same case number as the one for Clarke and Lewis. This third individual, who is Accused 3, has not appeared in any of the virtual courtrooms I've observed for this case number, nor has this individual's lawyer. There hasn't even been a mention of this Accused 3. It is possible that Clarke, Lewis, and Accused 3 are charged in a criminal matter that is not related to the murder of Claudia Iacono.

His case number is different from the one for Clarke and Lewis's matter. I don't know where Greendige is being detained and whether, if he's being held in Ontario, he will be transferred to Quebec. Re: GREENIDGE's Ontario Court of Justice matter heard in one of the Toronto courthouses on Wed., Sept. 6 (not Sept. 5, which is what I previously wrote):

* Charges: Careless use / storage firearm | Possession contrary to order | Possession firearm with ammunition | (there is at least one other additional charge)
* There is a discretionary bench warrant for him.
* The Duty Counsel mentioned that there will be a Crown Pre-Trial (CPT).
* The Crown trial coordinator said they have concerns about the assigned 11(b) [I think this refers to a trial within reasonable time, i.e., the Jordan rule].
* They also mentioned that GREENIDGE has a murder charge in Quebec. The presiding judge commented that this could have an impact on the delay in scheduling a trial date [in Ontario for the Ontario matter].
* Presiding judge adjourned the matter to September 29.

On a previous occasion, when I virtually observed the CLARKE-LEWIS matter being heard in Ontario, I learned that although the Crown knew that CLARKE was being held in Quebec, the Crown had no idea why CLARKE was being held in Quebec. So I was wrong about the coordination between the Toronto and Montreal courthouses.

Before 2009, the official website for the Hells indicated that any local “members” in the DR were prospects only. Today, the official website shows 1. a charter for Santo Domingo in 2009, and 2. a charter for a Nomads group in the DR in 2018. Organized-crime reporter and author Peter Edwards has written that the Quebec Hells established a charter in the DR.

At the beginning of 2015, Quebec’s provincial police force — the Sûreté du Québec — announced that more than half of the province’s most-wanted criminals had sought refuge in the DR.

The Dream Casino mess in the DR showed the involvement of Italian-Canadians in Ontario and Quebec with ties to organized crime.

In January 2013, Patrizio D’Amico of Granby, Quebec, was reported to be living in the DR. Vito Rizzuto owned a home in an exclusive gated community in the DR.
