First, while certainly no angel, Trump is hardly the most corrupt politician in the history of this country. Second, Hunter pled not guilty after the sweetheart deal both the prosecution and his defense (which were effectively a single entity) was thrown out by the judge. And the investigation into him and his father was, and continues to be, obstructed by both the government and media. That's the exact opposite of what has happened with those entities and Trump. My point isn't even so much the difference between Trump and Biden, but the difference in the way the establishment is reacting to them.TallGuy19 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 2:30 pm This all sounds like a win for democracy and the rule of law to me. The most corrupt politician in the history of this country along with his co-conspirators in an attempted coup are under indictment. Hunter Biden has pled guilty to multiple crimes, and he and his dad are still under investigation. I hope this is the beginning of a new era where we actually prosecute criminal politicians.

Re: Rico
Donnie has spent his entire life committing virtually every crime in the book. He was recently found liable for sexual abuse against E. Jean Carroll, he was good friends with Jeff Epstein for over two decades (and all that that entails), and he is notorious for defrauding contractors and employees. Maybe he isn't the most corrupt politician in history—but he is, without a doubt, a criminal who has done some heinous shit. The 91 counts he is charged with are just the tip of the iceberg.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 2:49 pmFirst, while certainly no angel, Trump is hardly the most corrupt politician in the history of this country. Very passionate, but at the end of the day none of those people are choir boys or girls. Everything you listed also applies to a laundry list of DC politicians, left and right. Trump is simply the one being targeted and his skeletons exposed. I’m sure if we did a deep dive into many of the closets of career political elites we’d find plenty of disturbing stuff.
Re: Rico
Definitely. But now that it's no longer unprecedented to prosecute a former president, it potentially opens the door to some of those other shitbags being prosecuted too. Maybe we will finally see charges filed against Crooked Hillary and her pervert husband (who was also good friends with Epstein for many years). I was actually starting to think that politicians on both sides were working behind the scenes to shield Donnie from prosecution for fear that it might open the floodgates.NothingNew44 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 3:29 pm Very passionate, but at the end of the day none of those people are choir boys or girls. Simple test to run if you want to see if this is political. Reverse it.
IMAGINE if Don JNR was caught with photos of himself with prostitues
IMAGINE if Don JNR was caught with photos of himself naked with firearms.
IMAGINE if Don JNR was caught speeding whilst DOING CRACK.
IMAGINE if Don JNR was found to be referring to payments to 'the big guy'.
IMAGINE if Trump had gotten a Ukrainian Prosecutor fired for investigating his son and then bragged about it.
IMAGINE if Biden also had classified documents at his house, his office, his garage.
IMAGINE if Hilary Clinton also said her loss to Trump was stolen.
IMAGINE if Trump COMPLETELY MADE UP a RUSSIAN COLLUSION story about Biden.
What a joke. If even ONE of these was the other way round the media outrage wouldve been deafening.
Instead, Crickets.
Thats the corruption. Bodies which are designed to be impartial pushing political narratives.

Um, Hunter Biden has been charged with two counts of failure to pay income tax and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He and his dad are still under investigation for their business dealings in both Ukraine and China, although it appears that Joe wasn't involved with his son's shady business dealings. Hunter's former business partner, Devon Archer, recently testified that he was selling the "illusion of access" to his dad and other Washington insiders. In any case, they won't be able to charge Joe until he's out of office. You remember that whole presidential immunity thing, right?SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 10:26 am Simple test to run if you want to see if this is political. Reverse it.

So you know more than Devon Archer? The funny thing is, the Republicans trotted this guy out like he was going to hand them the smoking gun that would finally sink that dastardly Joe—but he wound up doing the exact opposite. Up until that point, I was actually convinced that Joe was wrapped in his son's shenanigans.

Just stop. I realize you're half-hearted attempt to appear objective was never reality but you need to stop trying to push a lie we both know even you don't believe. We both know Joe Biden is as innocent of the allegations about as much as he's a truly devout Catholic. And you pretending to want the Clintons to face justice doesn't hold a lot of water now that they're a non-factor.TallGuy19 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 6:24 pmSo you know more than Devon Archer? But the real kicker is your ridiculous comparison of the slap on the wrist tax charges (coupled with a Justice Department sweetheart plea deal) for Hunter, and complete crickets about his father by those most obsessed with Trump, with the political, legal and media machine arrayed against Trump since the day he came down the escalator. Everyone knows that NO other former president would be charged 4 times. And by leftist prosecutors who spend much of their time letting criminals off scott free only to pretend they care about the rule of law now. It's such a farce.
I and a lot of people didn't start out caring about or particularly liking Trump. However, seeing this bullshit double standard from the activist liberal media and weaponized government agencies made us root for the guy. Trump is a cartoon much of the time but, even on his worst day, he was light-years better than the two schmucks that came before and after him. And that's coming from someone who wants DeSantis now.

Devon Archer's testimony is the best insight we currently have into Hunter's business deals. If new evidence comes out that contradicts that testimony, I'll change my opinion. How's that for objectivity?Wiseguy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 6:51 pmJust stop. I've never been a fan of the Clintons. I didn't vote for Crooked Hillary, nor did I ever support her. At the time of the 2016 election, I actually disliked her slightly more than I disliked Donnie.
I wasn't old enough to vote when Slick Willy ran for office, but I wouldn't have voted for him even if I could have.

You apparently haven't been paying attention or have a short memory. The millions of dollars going to various members of the Biden family, their endless shell companies, Biden openly boasting of withholding funding to Ukraine unless they fired the prosecutor investigating the company his son was being paid by, Tony Bobulinki's statements on Hunter and 10% going to his father, Hunter himself complaining he has to kickback money to his father, and so on. And it's interesting how you frame Archer's testimony. He also said Hunter put his father on speaker phone many times when he was in business meetings. The implication being understood by everyone.TallGuy19 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:52 pm Devon Archer's testimony is the best insight we currently have into Hunter's business deals.
