Re: What do we know about Stefano "Steve the Truck Driver" Vitabile?
he had a son in law who is made in the family along with his brothers. Tight with Riggi and very powerful during 80s and 90s.
He had that nickname because he owned a trucking company and was able to drive a dump truck.
Prosecutor Miriam Rocah once said that:“his words were his weapons” because he allegedly ordered the murder of John D’amato and the attempted murders of Frank D’amato, Frank Scarabino, Charles Majuri and Thomas Salvata.

- Born in Ribera and came to the US with his father at 19-years-old in 1955.
- Father Pietro Vitabile was likely a Ribera Family member who transferred, as Rotondo identified Pietro as a DeCavalcante member.
- Stefano possibly made by 1957 when the books closed or in the first round of inductions in 1976, as he was consigliere by early 1977.
- Served as one of Sam DeCavalcante's drivers in New Jersey.
- He and his father active in the Ribera Club. Stefano can be seen in club photos from the early 1960s.
- Secretary / Treasurer for Val Sand and Fill company.
- Business partner of Louis LaRasso.
- Very close to capodecina Giacomo Colletti, their children intermarrying, and Jake Amari.

It reads to me as if he sold out the Jersey crew to the N.Y. DeCavalcante crew. How the Jersey crew wound up with 2 N.Y. bosses is a hint to the doom of this crew.

Yes, along with 2 others out of prison now. Convict Inc. has an interesting story about one of them moving into the cell of a Dirty White Boy and then refusing to give it up. After refusing, Jimmy Ida interceded as the DWB were going to physically assault or stab him.

I don’t watch many of those videos but I remember this one. Pino Schifilliti was the guy who moved into the cell and when they pressed him to move out Jimmy Ida stepped up for him or something like that. Somehow and I forget how this transpired but Benny Geritano ends up slapping Jimmy Ida in the face after Ida took a swing at him.outfit guy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 6:11 amYes, along with 2 others out of prison now.
